Folk customs

Harvesting and storage: Harvest in spring when it blooms, remove impurities, dry in the sun, and store in a dry place. Fresh products can be used as soon as they are picked.

Resource distribution: Distributed in Central China, East China, Central South, Southwest China, Hebei, Shaanxi, Taiwan and other places.

In Lishui, Taizhou and other places in Zhejiang Province, it is a supplementary ingredient for making Qingming dumplings during the Qingming Festival. It is picked in spring when it just grows and before it blooms, washed, boiled in a pot with water, taken out and drained, placed on a plate and waited for it to mold (if the weather is hot, it will mold in a few days) and it will emit a unique fragrance. Store in the sun and take out when needed. When needed, chop it into pieces and boil it with water in a pot, then mix it with flour to make Qingming dumplings, so that the white flour will turn green. It is also because of the use of such ingredients that the outer layer of the dumpling has a chewy texture.
