Massage six acupoints to prevent and treat gray hair

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that hair loss and gray hair are caused by liver and kidney deficiency. Modern people’s diet and lifestyle habits are one of the reasons that lead to acquired liver and kidney dysfunction. According to the experience of traditional Chinese medicine, when an organ is not functioning properly, stimulating its related meridians can strengthen the function of the meridians.

1. Zusanli acupoint

After pressing for one minute, you can relax slightly, then change to kneading for one minute, and repeat 3-5 times. Zusanli acupoint is one of the main acupoints of "Stomach Meridian of Foot Yangming". It is located on the outer side of the calf, 3 inches below Dubi, on the line connecting Dubi and Jiexi, with the lateral sural cutaneous nerve distributed in the superficial layer. The deep layer contains branches or tributaries of the anterior tibial artery and vein. It is mainly used to treat gastrointestinal diseases, paralysis of the lower limbs, mental illness, surgical diseases, and symptoms of consumptive disease. The operation method is to pierce vertically 1~2 inches.

2. Sanyinjiao

Starting from Sanyinjiao, press upward along the posterior edge of the tibia until you stop at the Yinlingquan point near the knee joint. Repeat 10 times and then switch to the other leg. The three yin meridians are the three yin meridians of the foot. Jiao means meeting. The name of Sanyinjiao acupoint means that the qi and blood substances of the three yin meridians of the foot meet at this acupoint. The substances of this point include damp heat provided by the spleen meridian, damp wind provided by the liver meridian, and cold air provided by the kidney meridian. The qi and blood of the three yin meridians meet here, so it is named Sanyinjiao acupoint.

3. Hegu Point

Continue pressing for one minute. You will feel a sore or painful sensation. Release your fingers for ten seconds and then press again for one minute. Repeat until the pain is relieved. Hegu is the original point of the Large Intestine Meridian, belongs to the Yang and governs the exterior, it can take the clear and eliminate the weak, vent the heat in the Qi, raise the clear and lower the turbid, dispel wind and disperse the exterior, and promote the circulation of Qi and blood. Hegu is used to treat all symptoms of head and face. If used properly, the needle can cure the disease. A special acupoint for treating diseases related to teeth, eyes, throat (pharynx), etc.

Keep pressing for one minute. You will feel soreness or pain. Release your fingers for ten seconds and then press for another minute.

4. Taichong Point

Located between the big toe and the second toe of the foot, in the depression about 1 finger width upwards. This point has the function of regulating liver qi.

5. Baihui Point

Located at the back center of the top of the head, it is the intersection of all the yang meridians. Regular massage can promote qi and blood circulation, maintain the normal supply of nutrients needed for the hair, and also relieve symptoms such as headache, anemia, and fatigue.

6. Fengchi Point

Located below the occipital bone at the back of the head, in the depression above the hairline, one on each side. Regularly pressing this point can dredge the meridians, promote blood circulation, and balance the yin and yang of qi and blood.
