Traditional Chinese medicine massage is a very good thing for our human body. Through massage, we can not only drive away the fatigue of the body, but also help our body to treat diseases. As we all know, our body has acupoints and meridians, and both acupoints and meridians can be massaged. So, some friends always have hiccups when massaging their meridians. What's going on? Reversed flow of qi is a name in traditional Chinese medicine, which refers to the pathological changes of qi movement being abnormal, qi movement not descending as it should, qi movement going against the flow, or qi movement going sideways. Clinically, the most common symptoms are lung qi reflux and stomach qi reflux. Lung qi reflux causes cough and wheezing, while stomach qi reflux causes nausea, vomiting, belching, hiccups, etc. The basic principles of treatment are to regulate qi and lower qi. Causes and common diseases The causes of qi reversal may include invasion of external evil, internal retention of phlegm, fluid and blood stasis, stimulation of cold or heat, excessive emotions, etc. Clinically, the most common symptoms are lung qi reflux and stomach qi reflux. examine 1. Lung Qi Upward Coughing and wheezing; 2. Stomach Qi Upward Then there will be nausea, vomiting, belching, hiccups, etc. Differential Diagnosis 1. Qi reversal can be divided into deficiency and excess When Qi is reversed and does not descend, the disease involves multiple organs and may be divided into deficiency and excess types. From the perspective of organ function, the rise and fall of Qi is most significantly affected by the lungs, stomach, and liver. (1) Lung Qi is reversed. Lung Qi is responsible for both spreading and descending, and spreading and descending are the most normal behaviors. When evil qi disturbs the body, the lung qi cannot be released, or the lung is originally weak and unable to descend, resulting in coughing, shortness of breath, chest tightness and shortness of breath. (2) The stomach qi goes up against the flow. The stomach is responsible for receiving and digesting food. Its qi moves smoothly when it descends, and is harmonious when it descends. External evil invades the stomach, or it is damaged by diet, phlegm accumulation, or it is invaded by liver qi, which causes the stomach to lose its harmony and descend and the stomach qi to rise against the flow; or the stomach's qi and yin are deficient, if the stomach qi is deficient then the stomach is unable to descend, if the stomach yin is deficient then the stomach loses its moistening and descending function, all of these can cause the stomach qi to rise against the flow, with vomiting, hiccups, belching, nausea, regurgitation, and acid reflux as common symptoms. (3) Liver Qi reversal refers to the upward or horizontal reversal of liver Qi. The liver is responsible for regulating and releasing emotions and likes to be unobstructed. If anger and depression damage the liver and cause the liver qi to rise excessively, the liver qi will rush upward and invade the clear orifices, causing headaches, dizziness, tinnitus, red eyes, and even fainting and loss of consciousness. The liver qi often attacks the stomach and spleen. If it affects the stomach, the stomach will lose its harmony and descending function, and the absorption and digestion functions will be disrupted. If the harmony and descending function is abnormal, there will be abdominal pain, vomiting, belching and acid reflux. If it affects the spleen, the transportation and transformation functions will be disrupted, and the clear Qi will be suppressed. Symptoms include intermittent pain in the abdomen, diarrhea after the pain, and temporary relief after the diarrhea. The liver qi invades the stomach and spleen. Due to the excessive liver qi, the disease is real. Due to the weakness of the spleen and stomach, the transportation and transformation are insufficient, resulting in the excessive liver wood, which is called earth-deficient wood-eight. The disease is both real and virtual. 2. Qi collapses and does not rise, the disease is due to deficiency Qi collapse is also a pathological change caused by abnormal rise and fall of Qi, but it is based on Qi deficiency, especially deficiency of middle Qi, and it causes the Qi to be unable to rise. Symptoms include dizziness, fatigue, lack of energy, sallow complexion, abdominal distension, sagging organs, and rectal prolapse. If Qi sinks and fails to rise, if understood from the perspective of the rise and fall of Qi, it can also be included in the broad sense of Qi reversal. |
