What are the massage methods for Eustachian tube obstruction?

The Eustachian tube may not be very clear to ordinary people like us, but it plays an important role in the human pharynx, nose and throat. It often induces some chronic diseases, especially in the elderly. Common induced diseases include: rhinitis, otitis media, etc. There are many treatment methods in clinical medicine at present, including Chinese medicine conditioning, surgery, massage, etc. This article will introduce the massage methods for tympanic tube obstruction in the pharynx.

Tangerine peel and lotus leaf tea can clear the bile duct

Bile duct obstruction is usually accompanied by symptoms such as steatorrhea, itchy skin, and night blindness (poor vision at night). The bile duct is connected to the gallbladder. Once the gallbladder becomes inflamed or has stones, the duct will be blocked, causing abdominal distension, belching, acid reflux, etc. Bile duct obstruction can easily lead to poor absorption of vitamins D, K, and A, resulting in bone disease, night blindness, and bleeding tendency. Some middle-aged and elderly friends often take anti-tuberculosis drugs, anti-tumor drugs, anti-hyperthyroidism drugs, etc., which is also one of the causes of bile duct stenosis and bile stasis.

Tangerine peel and lotus leaf tea: Take 6 grams of tangerine peel and 5 grams of lotus leaf, brew with boiling water, cover for 15 to 20 minutes, drink on an empty stomach before meals, once a day, for two weeks. Tangerine peel is rich in tangerine peel glycoside, which can accelerate gallbladder emptying and dilate bile duct. The flavonoids in lotus leaves can change blood lipid levels and have anti-inflammatory and stone-preventing effects.

Plum mint tea opens up the pancreatic duct

Diarrhea caused by pancreatic duct obstruction is characterized by frequent diarrhea, light color, and strong odor. Pancreatic secretion is closely related to diet. Once you overeat, it will stimulate the secretion of large amounts of pancreatic juice, causing blockage of the pancreatic ducts and diarrhea.

Black plum mint tea: remove the core of 2 black plums and crush them, add 1-2 grams of mint, brew with boiling water for 30 minutes and drink as tea, use for two weeks. Black plums are rich in bitter acid, citric acid and oleanolic acid-like substances, which can promote the contraction of the pancreatic duct, facilitate the drainage of pancreatic juice, and reduce and prevent infection. If you have symptoms such as cold, fever, cough and phlegm, you should not drink it for the time being.

Pinch your nose and swallow to open the Eustachian tube

The main symptoms of Eustachian tube obstruction are a blowing-like sound synchronized with breathing, accompanied by dry and itchy throat, hearing loss and other symptoms. Chronic rhinitis, sinusitis and other inflammations can cause congestion and swelling of the Eustachian tube mucosa, resulting in blockage, which causes the pressure on the inside and outside of the eardrum to lose balance, preventing the eardrum from vibrating normally and causing tinnitus symptoms.

Pinch the nose and swallow. Hold your breath, pinch your nostrils, blow air hard and then swallow. You may hear a "pop" sound in your ear. This is caused by the gas entering the middle ear through the Eustachian tube and vibrating the eardrum (if there is no sound, it means the Eustachian tube is blocked). Practice 10 to 15 times a day until the tinnitus disappears.

Massage the bridge of the nose to open up the nasolacrimal duct

The nasolacrimal duct is a small tube connecting the lacrimal gland and the nasal cavity, which is mainly responsible for draining the secreted tears into the nasal cavity (therefore, when crying, there are not only tears but also mucus). Once the eyes are dry or the tear duct is inflamed, the venous plexus in the mucosa at the opening of the nasolacrimal duct will become congested and edematous, causing the nasolacrimal duct to be blocked. The tears cannot be discharged into the nasal cavity and can only overflow from the eyes. If not treated in time, it can easily cause corneal inflammation or ulcers. In severe cases, it can cause corneal perforation, eyeball atrophy, and even blindness.

Massage the bridge of your nose, clean the corners of your eyes with clean water, and wash your hands. Make slight fists with both hands, and use the back of your bent thumbs to massage the inner corners of your eyes for 1-2 minutes. Then, push and press both sides of the nose up and down for 2-3 minutes until you feel local redness and heat. Do this twice a day, morning and evening. When massaging, the thumb should be placed close to the nose wing, and a little force should be applied to achieve a squeezing effect. Massaging the bridge of the nose can help unclog the nose through the directional swinging of cilia.

Parotid gland massage to open up the parotid duct

The mucosa at the opening of the parotid duct is slightly raised and relatively narrow. Once inflammation or congestion and swelling occurs, the duct will be blocked. In severe cases, it may even induce neuritis, meningitis, deafness, etc.

For parotid gland massage, sit down, wrap the middle three fingers of both hands with gauze, dip it in warm water, and use the earlobes as the center to make smooth circular massage to the surrounding facial skin. Keep your mouth open while massaging. The pressure of massaging should not be too great, and the movements should be even and continuous. The massage speed should be slow rather than fast. Generally, continuous massage for 2 to 3 minutes, three times a day, morning, noon and evening, can effectively relieve the symptoms of dry mouth caused by parotid duct obstruction.
