As people's health awareness improves, many people are more and more aware of diseases. Pelvic effusion is a relatively common gynecological disease. Generally, the symptoms of pelvic effusion are not particularly obvious in the early stages of the disease, so it is easy to be ignored, thus delaying the best treatment time, causing the disease to worsen, and bringing certain difficulties to treatment. Women must seek timely treatment when suffering from pelvic effusion. What causes pelvic effusion? The main reason why a mother develops pelvic effusion after childbirth is that her body has not recovered safely after childbirth. If she does not pay attention to care, she is prone to virus infection. Causes of pelvic effusion include: 1. Not paying attention to hygiene during menstruation When menstruation comes, the endometrium will fall off, the blood sinuses inside the uterine cavity will be open, and small blood clots will be present, which is very suitable for the growth of bacteria. If you do not pay attention to personal hygiene during menstruation, use unclean sanitary napkins, toilet paper, etc., or have sexual intercourse during menstruation, it provides a good opportunity for bacteria to grow and infect, causing pelvic inflammatory disease in women. 2. Spread of inflammation to adjacent organs Women are more likely to develop pelvic inflammatory disease when they suffer from appendicitis or peritoneal inflammation. When suffering from vaginitis and cervicitis, the inflammation will spread upward and eventually lead to pelvic inflammatory disease. 3. Postpartum and post-abortion infection After childbirth and artificial abortion, the body is weak and the immune system is low. The cervix is in a dilated state. If personal hygiene is not paid attention to, the bacteria in the vagina and cervix may ascend and cause female pelvic infection. 4. Infection after gynecological surgery Artificial abortion surgery, IUD insertion (removal) surgery, salpingography (hydration), etc., if the disinfection is not strict during the operation, it is easy to get infection after the operation. If you do not pay attention to personal hygiene after surgery, do not follow the doctor's instructions for recovery treatment, or have sexual intercourse too early after treatment, it will cause bacteria to grow and lead to pelvic infection in women. What does a small amount of pelvic fluid mean? The pelvic cavity is the lowest part of the abdominal cavity in the whole body. When there is exudate or transudate, it will be drained into the pelvic cavity, thus forming pelvic effusion. Some normal women will have a small amount of blood accumulate in the pelvic cavity during menstruation or ovulation, forming pelvic effusion. Such pelvic effusion is sometimes a good thing, which proves that the woman's fallopian tube is unobstructed and there is exudation in the fallopian tube. If the umbrella end is unobstructed, a small amount of exudate will flow into the pelvic cavity, thus forming pelvic effusion. The normal value of female pelvic fluid should be less than 10MM. Physiological pelvic effusion is less than 10 mm. During a woman's menstrual period and a few days after her menstrual period, some menstrual blood may flow back along the fallopian tubes into the pelvic cavity, and a small amount of fluid will be seen on ultrasound. Or after ovulation, the follicular fluid will flow into the pelvic cavity along with the ruptured follicle. The amount is usually very small, and a slightly larger amount can be seen under ultrasound. These two types can disappear naturally and do not require treatment and will not cause harm to the body. The common hazards of pelvic effusion are as follows: 1. If pelvic effusion is not treated properly, it can be very harmful and can easily lead to pelvic adhesions, fallopian tube blockage, etc., leading to infertility. If you usually have lower abdominal pain, lumbosacral pain, increased vaginal discharge, lower abdominal tenderness and cord-like thickening during gynecological examination, etc., chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is considered and active treatment is needed to prevent worsening inflammation and increased fluid accumulation. 2. Most pelvic effusions are caused by inflammation, that is, by exudation from chronic pelvic inflammation. A few cases are caused by ectopic pregnancy rupture, corpus luteum rupture, pelvic abscess, chocolate cyst, and ovarian cancer. It is best to perform a posterior fornix puncture examination to identify the nature of the fluid caused by pelvic inflammation. 3. If there are chronic infection lesions, it may be an inflammation of the gynecological system such as the ovaries and fallopian tubes, or it may be caused by tuberculosis or tumors. Pelvic inflammatory disease should be treated early, otherwise it will affect fertility. |
