Invisible dentures are a method of tooth restoration introduced to my country from abroad. This type of denture is a type of removable denture. It is comfortable to wear, elastic, strong and reasonably priced, and is therefore popular among people. There are some things to pay attention to when wearing dentures, and the wearing time is a very important point. So can invisible dentures be worn for a long time? Let me introduce it to you below. The lifespan of invisible dentures is about five years. During this period, the dentures will generally age and the gums will shrink to varying degrees. It is recommended that you go to the hospital for a check-up. Invisible dentures are less functional than fixed dentures. As your gums shrink, gaps will form between the invisible dentures and your gums, which will retain food debris and bacteria. Invisible dentures cannot be worn for a long time. You have to wear them during the day and take them off at night, brush them clean, and soak them in clean water. If they are already broken, it is recommended that you do a fixed restoration. But of course, it depends on how many teeth are missing and the condition of other surrounding teeth. Properties of invisible dentures: (1) The elastic clasp can utilize the soft tissue undercut for retention, which has a better retention effect, especially in cases where the crown of the abutment tooth is too short or the undercut is small. It can make better use of the undercut and is not easy to fall off. In addition, since the clasp of the denture forms a surface contact with the tooth surface of the abutment tooth, it has much greater friction than the metal clasp with only point and line contact. (2) The retainer made of elastic resin is designed to be placed on the tooth neck and the alveolar ridge below to jointly withstand external forces. Its elasticity and toughness can also buffer the chewing pressure of the edentulous area, play a physiological massage role, and cause less lateral stress and other damage to the abutment teeth. In addition, the elastic clasp and the base are well sealed with the abutment teeth, making it difficult for food to accumulate. (3) Removable dentures made entirely of elastic resin are generally mucosa-supported, the (occlusal) force is not easy to disperse, and the chewing efficiency is low. Elastomeric resins cannot be highly polished, cannot be easily repaired if damaged, and cannot be relined. |
