Stye moxibustion treatment method

Stye moxibustion treatment method

After a stye occurs, many people will think of using traditional Chinese medicine to treat it, such as moxibustion. This method is actually very effective and will not cause any side effects to your body, but you must persist in the treatment to completely excrete the toxins from your body. It is best to use gentle moxibustion, which can prevent any skin burns during the moxibustion process.

Moxa stick moxibustion (hanging moxibustion), Taiyi magic needle, and Leihuo magic needle.

(1) Moxibustion with moxa sticks: Take 24 grams of pure and soft moxa wool, spread it flat on a piece of fine straw paper 26 cm long and 20 cm wide, and roll it into a cylindrical moxa roll with a diameter of 1.5 cm. The roll should be rolled tightly and wrapped with soft, loose but tough mulberry paper, and sealed with glue or paste. There are also cases where 6 grams of equal parts of fine powder of cinnamon, dried ginger, cloves, angelica dahurica, asarum, angelica dahurica, and realgar are infiltrated into each piece of moxa to make it into a medicine strip. The methods of moxibustion are divided into warm moxibustion and sparrow pecking moxibustion.

(2) Mild moxibustion: Light one end of the moxa stick and aim it at the acupoint or affected area, about 1.5-3 cm away from the skin, for fumigation. Figure 150. The best time for fumigation is when the patient feels a local warmth without any burning pain. Usually each part is moxibustioned for 5-7 minutes until the skin turns red. For patients who faint or have local dullness of perception, the doctor can separate the middle and index fingers and place them on both sides of the moxibustion area. In this way, the doctor can measure the local heat level of the patient through the feeling of his fingers, so as to adjust the moxibustion distance at any time and prevent burns.

(3) Bird-pecking moxibustion: When applying moxibustion, the burning end of the moxa stick is not fixed at a certain distance from the skin of the moxibustion area. Instead, the moxibustion is applied by moving up and down like a bird pecking at food. Alternatively, you can evenly move up, down, left, and right, or rotate the moxibustion repeatedly.

(4) Rotating moxibustion: The moxa stick is rotated clockwise or counterclockwise on the skin at a distance of about 1.5-3 cm from the skin.

Warm acupuncture

A method that combines acupuncture and moxibustion. Also known as needle handle moxibustion. That is, during the needle retention process, a ball of moxa is rolled into a ball and wrapped around the needle handle and ignited, transmitting heat into the acupuncture point through the needle body. Burn 1-3 balls of date pit-sized wormwood each time. This method has the effect of warming the meridians, promoting qi and activating blood circulation. It is suitable for symptoms of excessive cold and dampness, and stagnation of meridians, such as joint pain, skin numbness, etc.

Direct moxibustion

Direct moxibustion - suppurative moxibustion and non-suppurative moxibustion. The method is to place a moxa cone of appropriate size directly on the skin for moxibustion. If the skin needs to be burned and festered during moxibustion, and scars are left after healing, it is called scar moxibustion. If the moxibustion does not cause skin burns or suppuration and does not leave scars, it is called scar-free moxibustion.
