When back pain occurs, you should pay attention to getting more rest, strengthen your nutrition in your diet, and eat more foods that are helpful for back pain. Of course, you can also use moxibustion to relieve and treat back pain.

Ashi point, diaphragm point, kidney point, and life gate point. Method: The patient lies prone, exposing the waist and back, light the moxa stick, put it in the moxibustion cup, adjust the distance, and moxibustion the above acupoints. Moxibustion each acupoint for 15 to 20 minutes until you feel warmth but not burning pain, and the skin is rosy but not blistering. Do it once a day, 10 times as a course of treatment, and use 1 to 2 courses in a row.

Principle of action: Diaphragm is located below the spinous process of the 7th thoracic vertebra, 1.5 inches lateral to it. It is the blood meeting point of the eight meeting points. Moxibustion on it can replenish blood, nourish blood, and promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis. Shenshu is located below the spinous process of the second lumbar vertebra, 1.5 inches lateral to it. The acupoint is close to the kidney and is the place where kidney qi is transferred. Moxibustion on it can nourish the kidney and replenish essence, strengthen the waist and dredge the meridians. Mingmen is located in the depression below the spinous process of the second lumbar vertebra. It is a meridian point of the Du meridian and is located between the two kidneys. It is an important gateway for human life energy and has the functions of nourishing the kidneys and clearing the waist and spine. Ashi points are located at painful points. When used in combination with the above points, moxibustion can directly reach the affected area, which has the effects of relaxing the meridians and activating blood circulation, dispersing wind and cold, removing dampness and relieving pain. Precautions: Avoid excessive fatigue and injury; prevent invasion of wind, cold and dampness. Adopt correct posture (including sitting, lying and walking), sleep on a hard cushioned bed, exercise in moderation, do physical exercises to relax the waist and back muscles regularly, etc.

Precautions for moxibustion: 1. Do not directly moxibustion the exposed parts to prevent the formation of scars and affect the appearance. 2. The following areas cannot be moxibustioned: areas with thin skin, less muscle, and tendon knots; the lumbar sacral area and lower abdomen of pregnant women; the nipples, genitals, testicles, large blood vessels, heart area, and eyeballs of men and women. In addition, do not apply moxibustion directly to the joints. 3. Do not use moxibustion when you are extremely tired, too hungry, too full, drunk, sweating profusely, emotionally unstable, or women are menstruating. 4. Patients with certain diseases cannot use moxibustion: Patients with certain infectious diseases, high fever, coma, convulsions, or extremely exhausted bodies, those who are emaciated, and mentally ill patients cannot use moxibustion. 5. Pay attention to the accuracy of body position and acupoints: the body position should be suitable for the needs of moxibustion. At the same time, pay attention to the body position being comfortable and natural, and find the correct parts and acupoints to ensure the effect of moxibustion. 6. Be gradual and control the amount of stimulation for the first time. Start with a small amount and small dose for a short time, and then increase the dose later.
