Tips for those with hard of hearing

As one of the important sensory organs in the human body, the ear plays an important role in receiving information. In many cases, its role is no less than that of the eyes. However, many times, because many people do not pay attention to the hygiene of their ears, tinnitus, deafness and other hearing problems often occur. If this happens, patients should pay great attention to it and check themselves more often to see what bad habits they have.

Deafness is a relatively serious ear disease. Deafness is not only a hearing impairment, but more importantly a communication barrier. It has a great impact on the patient's life and work and should be discovered and treated early. The most typical symptom of deaf patients is hearing loss.

For the deaf patients themselves, they sometimes experience extremely uncomfortable symptoms in the ears such as tinnitus, dizziness, and balance disorders.

How to prevent hearing loss

prevention

1. Avoid all kinds of noise. Being in a noisy environment for a long time can easily lead to hearing loss. If you create a quieter working, learning and living environment, you can reduce the adverse effects of noise on hearing.

2. Avoid outbursts. Excessive emotional fluctuations can cause spasms and contractions of capillaries throughout the body, resulting in a severe slowing of blood flow in the inner ear's auditory vessels and microcirculation disorders, thereby causing hypoxia of the inner ear auditory nerve and leading to sudden deafness.

3. Avoid picking your ears. Do not use unclean small wooden sticks, hairpins, etc. to pick your ears to relieve itching, so as to avoid damaging the eardrum deep in the ear canal, causing traumatic eardrum perforation and suppurative otitis media, and other lesions, resulting in varying degrees of hearing loss.

4. Avoid using ototoxic drugs. Such as streptomycin, gentamicin, kanamycin, neomycin, quinine and their derivatives, so as to avoid drug-induced deafness. These drugs should be banned for infants and young children.

5. Avoid the influence of high air pressure around the ears. When participating in sports such as swimming and diving, be careful not to let your ears touch the water surface first; when encountering firecrackers, you should stay 3 meters away from the scene or cover your ears with your hands; you cannot hit people's ears with your palms, etc. All of these are designed to protect the eardrum from traumatic deafness caused by the stimulation of air pressure.

6. Eat less high-fat foods. Excessively high cholesterol levels in the blood can cause atherosclerosis of the blood vessel walls. Vascular sclerosis reduces the blood supply to the inner ear and causes malnutrition of the auditory organs, leading to hearing loss or deafness.

7. Actively treat colds. Because colds can affect the ventilation of the Eustachian tube (the tube from the pharynx to the middle ear cavity). In addition, if you blow your nose with improper force, the germs in the mucus may accidentally enter the middle ear cavity, which can easily cause purulent infection in the middle ear and affect hearing.

8. Avoid using your Walkman for long periods of time. High-volume audio sounds cause fatigue and damage to the auditory organs, leading to hearing loss and even deafness.
