Itch around belly button during pregnancy

Itch around belly button during pregnancy

After a pregnant woman becomes pregnant, as the fetus continues to grow, she may feel some strange sensations around her belly button, which is normal. Some girls find that the area around their belly buttons is very itchy and they cannot relieve the pain by themselves. At this time, they should go to the hospital for examination in time to avoid other serious diseases. If it is just the normal development of the fetus, there is no need to panic. So, what is the reason for itching around the belly button after pregnancy?

1. The pain around the navel of pregnant women is because the baby begins to grow and develop

Starting from the second trimester, the fetus will grow very fast and the belly will be stretched, so the area around the belly button will feel stretched. It is recommended to use moisturizer to moisturize the skin on the belly as much as possible at this time, otherwise stretch marks will easily appear. Please rest assured that the pain around the belly button of pregnant women will not affect the baby in the belly.

2. Pain around the navel of pregnant women is due to the swelling of the uterus during pregnancy

There is another possibility that pregnant women may have pain around their belly buttons: in the early stages of pregnancy, there will be occasional cramping in the lower abdomen, sometimes only on one side, sometimes the entire lower abdomen will hurt, but it will not be too painful, only a slight cramp. This is mainly because the ligaments supporting the uterus are pulled upward due to the swelling of the uterus during pregnancy. No special treatment is required, just rest. If the pain is severe and unbearable, or it is continuous pain rather than occasional cramps, you need to see an obstetrician and gynecologist.

3. Abnormal abdominal pain related to pregnancy

If you feel persistent, tearing cramping pain in your lower abdomen, it may be a sign of ectopic pregnancy.

If you feel waves of contraction pain in your lower abdomen accompanied by vaginal bleeding, it may be a sign of miscarriage.

Some pregnant women will develop an ovarian corpus luteum, commonly known as a cyst, in the early stages of pregnancy, or they may have an ovarian tumor before pregnancy, which may cause torsion or rupture, resulting in persistent severe pain in the lower abdomen.

If you encounter these situations, you must seek medical attention and wait for the doctor to make a correct judgment and give appropriate treatment.
