The diet should be refined: patients should not blindly follow a high-protein diet, but a low-protein diet and eat more starchy foods to ensure sufficient calories, and determine the intake of water and salt according to their own edema. 2. Adhere to the dietary principle of 5 highs and 1 low: low fat, low salt, low protein, low phosphorus, low potassium, and high vitamins. 3. Avoid the following foods: egg white, animal offal, millet, edible fungi, seaweed, soy products, tea, oranges, melon seeds, peanuts, bananas, etc., and the intake of vegetable oils is strictly prohibited. 4. Patients with azotemia should consume 40g of protein per day. For patients with high potassium, remove the soup after cooking the meat before consumption.

Nephrotic syndrome

Patients with nephrotic syndrome will have a large amount of proteinuria, so the intake of high-quality protein, such as milk, should be limited at this time. The daily intake for adults should be about 60g. There are two options: 1. Half a pound of milk in the morning, 1 ounce of lean meat and 2 egg whites at noon. 2. 2 egg whites for breakfast and 2 taels of lean meat for lunch. People without diabetes can increase their carbohydrate intake appropriately to ensure energy while taking into account fluid balance.
