The incubation period of poisoning is 10 minutes to 3 hours. It may occur immediately after taking the drug or 3 days later. The symptoms of poisoning are:

1. First, there is numbness in the lips, hands, and feet, followed by crooked lips, drooling, muscle cramps and twitching in the hands and feet, chest tightness, panic, palpitations, dizziness, blurred vision, and a burning sensation in the throat, larynx, esophagus, and stomach.

2. This is followed by nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, irritability, slow pulse, dullness, difficulty breathing, low blood pressure, speech disorders, and incontinence.

3. Then coma, convulsions, respiratory arrest may occur, and in severe cases, death may occur due to circulatory and respiratory failure. Analysis of the differences between Heishunpian and Baifupian:

The two have similar names and are often easily confused, but their effects are very different. Baifupian has the effects of drying dampness and resolving phlegm, dispelling wind and stopping spasms, and detoxifying and dispersing nodules. It is clinically used for wind-phlegm congestion, facial paralysis, and scrofula phlegm nodules; while Heishunpian has the effects of restoring yang and rescuing adverse conditions, replenishing fire and assisting yang, and expelling wind, cold and dampness. It is clinically used for yang loss syndrome, yang deficiency syndrome, and arthralgia.

The cross-section of processed Baifuzi slices is round or quasi-circular, while the longitudinal section is oval and dark brown in color; all processed products of Baifuzi are longitudinal slices, so their shape is an inverted triangular cone. A protruding root mark can be seen on the edge of most slices, commonly known as "nail corner".

Depending on the processing method, the white aconite root is yellow-white, has no skin, is translucent, and has a horny texture; the edge of the skin of the black aconite root is dark brown, the body of the root is dark yellow with a slightly light black color, and is translucent.
