The esophagus feels blocked in the lower part of the throat

If the esophagus below the throat feels very blocked, you may have esophagitis or gastritis. You need to go to the hospital for examination to confirm the condition. It may also be that there is follicular hyperplasia in the throat. Pay more attention to rest, eat a light diet, and avoid spicy and greasy foods. When your esophageal problems are serious, you should go to the hospital in time and receive symptomatic treatment under the guidance of a doctor. Avoid taking medication blindly.

The throat and esophagus feel blocked, which is usually caused by:

1. Throat inflammation: When there is acute or chronic inflammation in the throat, swallowing may be difficult or painful.

2. Esophageal inflammation or obstruction causes difficulty in swallowing. It is common in esophagitis, esophageal spasm, esophageal stenosis, or compression by esophageal foreign bodies, esophageal tumors, or extraesophageal tumors.

3. Neuroparalytic dysphagia. It is mostly caused by dysfunction of the nerves that control swallowing. Such as superior laryngeal nerve damage. In addition, cervical spondylosis can also cause dysphagia, because cervical spondylosis often causes vertebral bone hyperplasia. When the bone hyperplasia is located in the front of the cervical spine and is larger, or due to pathological stimulation of the sympathetic nerves during cervical spondylosis, it can lead to esophageal spasm or swallowing dysfunction, often accompanied by pain and other symptoms. This type of cervical spondylosis is also called esophageal cervical spondylosis. Its characteristic is that the swallowing disorder may be mild or severe, which is related to the position of the neck. It may occur frequently but can be relieved on its own. Only a few cases are accompanied by pain when swallowing, which can easily be confused with esophageal cancer.

4. Functional dysphagia. It is because of inflammation or traumatic pain in the pharynx or nearby organs that people are afraid to swallow. Among functional dysphagia, the most common is pharyngeal-esophageal neurosis, also known as globus hysterica, which is called plum pit qi in traditional Chinese medicine. It causes a foreign body sensation in the throat, which cannot be spit out or swallowed. No obvious abnormalities were found during the examination.

5. The sensation of foreign body in the throat may be due to follicular hyperplasia in the throat. It is recommended to go to the hospital for treatment. If it is confirmed to be follicular hyperplasia, it can be removed with a plasma knife. Pay attention to rest and diet at ordinary times.

6. Considering the possibility of esophagitis and gastritis at the same time, a definitive diagnosis can be made through gastroscopy. The main thing is to pay attention to dietary adjustment and avoid eating cold and spicy foods. It is currently recommended to continue taking some metoclopramide and omeprazole orally, while taking some pectin bismuth at the same time. If the effect is not good, it is recommended to have a gastroscopy as soon as possible, and you need to maintain a good mood

If there is a feeling of pharyngeal and esophageal obstruction, or discomfort or difficulty in swallowing, relevant examinations should be done, such as on the pharynx and esophagus. After excluding organic lesions, the patient can be treated as a functional disease.
