Parkinson's syndrome is a relatively common disease. The main affected group is the elderly. The most common symptoms are muscle rigidity and constant shaking of a part of the body. In the later stages of Parkinson's syndrome, patients will experience bradykinesia and movement disorders of the oral, tongue, and throat muscles, which often lead to difficulty swallowing and rapid breathing, posing a particularly serious threat to health. Parkinson's disease symptoms 1. The late symptoms of Parkinson's syndrome include muscle stiffness: People with Parkinson's disease often lose flexibility in their limbs and torso and become very rigid. The early stage of the disease usually starts from one side of the limb. In the early stage, one limb may be felt to be inflexible and stiff, which gradually worsens, leading to bradykinesia and even difficulty in performing some daily movements. 2. The late stage symptoms of Parkinson's syndrome include bradykinesia: In the early stages, due to the rigidity of the upper arm and finger muscles, the patient's upper limbs are often unable to perform fine movements. Actions such as untying shoelaces and buttoning become much slower than before, or cannot be completed smoothly at all. Writing also gradually becomes difficult, the handwriting becomes crooked, and the words become smaller and smaller. This is medically known as "micrographia". 3. Movement disorders of the mouth, tongue, jaw and pharyngeal muscles The patient is unable to swallow saliva naturally, resulting in excessive drooling. The speech decreases and the voice becomes low and monotonous. In severe cases, it may cause choking while eating or drinking. In the late stage of the disease, the patient cannot stand up on his own after sitting down, cannot turn over on his own after lying in bed, and cannot take care of himself in daily life. 4. Symptoms of Parkinson's syndrome in the late stage include resting tremor Late-stage tremor mainly affects the jaw, lips, tongue and head. In the early stages of the disease, patients do not pay much attention to tremors, which often occur when fingers or limbs are in a certain position and disappear when the posture is changed. Later, it develops into a tremor that only occurs when the limbs are still, such as when watching TV or talking to others. The limbs suddenly have involuntary tremors. The tremors will be reduced or stopped when changing position or moving, so it is called resting tremor. |
