Pubic fleas are a very common disease currently, which is usually transmitted through sexual intercourse. Infectious parasitic diseases can cause great harm to the human body, so medical treatment should be sought promptly. Common symptoms of this disease include itching, bugs or eggs, rashes, and blue-gray spots, so appropriate treatment should be taken immediately after the relevant symptoms are discovered. 1. Pubic fleas The body of the pubic flea is flat and looks like dandruff from a distance, but looks like a small crab if you look closely. Pubic fleas are an infectious parasitic disease in which pubic fleas, which mainly live on human pubic hair and body hair around the anus, bite nearby skin, causing itching. The nematode is small and shaped like a turtle, and uses its large claws to grasp the hair shaft. Pubic lice are off-white before feeding and turn rusty after feeding. It feeds on human blood, sucking blood 4-5 times a day. The host's body temperature is suitable for the growth of pubic fleas. Under natural conditions, the average lifespan of a female flea is 35 days, during which time she lays about 50 eggs. One male flea can fertilize multiple female fleas. Although most common on the pubic area, pubic lice can live on most human hair. Its body is broader than that of the head flea, and its legs are broader, allowing it to climb among the sparse hair. In addition to pubic hair, pubic fleas can also parasitize on the head hair, eyelashes, beards and armpit hair. Pubic fleas feed on human blood, so the affected areas where pubic lice live will feel itchy from time to time. In addition, pubic fleas may also carry other pathogens, causing infection in patients. The main route of transmission of pubic fleas is sexual intercourse, so pubic flea infection is considered a sexually transmitted disease. Clothing and bedding are also important routes of transmission for pubic fleas. Toilets will not transmit pubic fleas because their surface is smooth and lacks the conditions for pubic fleas to stay. 2. Clinical manifestations (1) Itching: Itching is the main symptom, but the degree of itching varies from person to person. Itching is caused by pubic fleas using their claws to pierce or puncture the skin, and itching occurs when pubic fleas use their mouths to bite and inject saliva. Pubic fleas inject saliva when sucking blood because saliva can prevent blood from clotting and facilitate blood sucking. Pubic fleas suck blood several times a day, so the itching is paroxysmal. (2) Insects or insect eggs: Small fleas can be found at the roots of hair follicles. They are light black, grayish white, or red (full of blood). Some patients can directly find small granular worm eggs. (3) Rash: There are often microscopic holes (invisible to the naked eye) at the site of pubic flea bites, local redness, small red spots, and blood scabs on them. After about 5 days, the microscopic holes will produce a local allergic reaction, often with raised papules. Infection often occurs due to scratching, with pustules, exudate, and crusting. (4) Blue-gray spots: Blue-gray spots of 0.2 to 2 cm in size can be seen near the affected area. They are painless and itchy, and do not fade when pressed. They can last for several months. These blue-gray spots can also be seen on the chest, abdomen, inner thigh, etc. The cause of this blue-gray spot is still unclear, but it may be related to the saliva entering the blood during the pubic flea bite. characteristic The pubic fleas are afraid of light and like shade. They can move day and night. When the temperature is too high or too low, they will remain motionless. Both male and female adults will begin to lay eggs within 24 hours after mating. The pubic flea lays few small eggs, about 3 eggs a day until 24-48 hours before its death. It lays about 50 eggs in its entire life span. The adult life span is about 30 days and it dies within 24 hours of leaving the host. The pubic flea undergoes incomplete metamorphosis, with three life stages: egg, nymph and adult, and the entire life cycle is completed on the host. When laying eggs, the female insect secretes glue that makes the eggs firmly adhere to hair or fabric fibers. Men on business trips, should they be careful about pubic fleas? Pubic fleas can be transmitted to sexual partners through sexual intercourse, or indirectly through towels, underwear, mattresses or toilet seats. Therefore, when men are traveling or taking a sauna, they should try to bring their own toiletries and avoid mixing them to reduce the chance of infection. When you get home, use hot water to heat your clothes, towels or bedding to completely kill the pubic fleas. |
