What are whiteheads?

Whiteheads, also known as closed comedones, are a common type of acne with many causes. For example, if you do not pay attention to removing the stratum corneum, causing the stratum corneum to be too thick, it will easily cause this type of acne. In addition, due to different body constitutions, some people have oily skin and their body oil secretion is relatively strong. If you do not pay attention to personal skin cleansing at this time, it may cause blockage of hair follicles and cause acne.

Because individual responses are different, the degree of damage varies, and the clinical manifestations are also different. Some people only experience mild acne, while others develop severe cysts, leaving behind pigmentation and scarring. Therefore, clinically, it is graded according to the severity of symptoms: Grade I: mainly comedones, with a small number of papules and pustules, and the total number of skin lesions is less than 30; Grade II: comedones and moderate number of papules and pustules, with a total number of skin lesions of 31-50; Grade III: a large number of papules and pustules, with a total number of skin lesions of 50-100, and the number of nodules is less than 3; Grade IV: nodular/cystic acne or conglobate acne, with a total number of skin lesions greater than 100 and more than 3 nodules/cysts.

What to do with whiteheads

1. Wash your face with warm water, because cold water is not easy to remove oil, hot water promotes sebum secretion. Do not use irritating soaps. Sulfur soap has certain benefits for acne. Do not use vanishing cream and other oily cosmetics. 2. Eat a balanced diet with more vegetables and fruits, less fat, sugar, spicy and other irritating foods, and keep bowel movements smooth. According to medical researchers, among young people who eat more kelp, few suffer from acne. The reason is related to the high zinc content in kelp. Zinc is an essential trace element for the human body. It not only enhances the body's immune function, but also participates in the normal metabolism of the skin, enables normal differentiation of epithelial cells, reduces keratinization of the sebaceous gland duct openings of hair follicles, and facilitates the discharge of sebaceous gland secretions.

3. Do not squeeze with your hands to avoid causing suppuration and inflammation. After the abscess breaks and is absorbed, scars and pigmentation will form, affecting the appearance. Antibiotics are effective for people with severe infections. 4. Combine work and rest to keep a happy mood and avoid psychological burden, so as not to cause neuroendocrine disorders and aggravate acne. For patients with mild symptoms, you can wait for it to subside naturally, because acne generally does not leave any traces after it subsides. 5. Treatment with retinoic acid, retinoic acid, and vitamin A can improve the keratinization process and help alleviate and eliminate symptoms.
