What is the reason for repeated colds?

With the changeable weather and weak physical constitution, many people catch a cold if they are not careful. When we talk about colds, we generally refer to the common cold. Under normal circumstances, even without any medication or other treatment, it will heal itself in about a week. Why do some people keep having recurring colds after catching one? Let's learn more about the reasons why recurring colds keep happening.

For colds, 95% of the pathogens are mainly viruses. The clinical symptoms may be runny nose, sneezing, dry throat, sore throat, followed by fever, cough, sputum, general fatigue, and muscle aches all over the body, which are all typical clinical manifestations of the common cold.

There are two things to note when you have a cold again and again:

The first diagnosis may be wrong, because it is not clear what symptoms the cold refers to. For example, if some patients always cough and the symptoms recur repeatedly, the diagnosis may be wrong. Is it cough variant asthma, an allergic disease or a state of airway hyperresponsiveness? Simply using cold medicine will definitely not work, and it is easy to recur because the cough is not isolated from the allergens.

Secondly, if you have nasal congestion, you may have allergic rhinitis, which is why you have recurring symptoms such as nasal congestion and runny nose. Simply using cold medicine is not effective. Another point is whether the patient's own body function is relatively low, and whether a series of diseases that cause reduced immune function have been ruled out, such as aplastic anemia, leukemia, or even AIDS, because AIDS patients have very poor immune function. Therefore, they are always susceptible to invasion by various pathogenic microorganisms from the outside world. The symptoms of this infection are repeated attacks, and patients generally think that it is just a simple cold, and then it recurs repeatedly.

In addition, we need to remind everyone that when taking cold medicine, you must not take large amounts of it or mix it at random. The right thing to do is to follow the doctor's advice.
