2. Eat less high-cholesterol foods

3. Eat less animal oil (lard)

To prevent and treat arteriosclerosis, you should eat more unsaturated fatty acids, mainly vegetable oils. 4. Eat more foods rich in vitamins and fiber

5. Eat more foods rich in potassium, iodine and chromium

It is currently believed that potassium salt can protect the cardiovascular system, while sodium salt will increase the burden on the heart. Therefore, patients with arteriosclerosis should not eat too salty food. At the same time, they should eat more potassium-rich foods, such as mushrooms, beans (soybeans, mung beans, red beans, broad beans), spinach, seaweed, lotus seeds, amaranth, etc. Iodine can lower blood cholesterol and is beneficial for preventing and treating arteriosclerosis. Therefore, you should eat more iodine-rich foods such as marine fish, sea cucumbers, shrimps, kelp, and seaweed. Regular consumption of foods high in chromium, such as beans, chicken, shellfish, etc., can also help prevent and treat arteriosclerosis.

6. Eat small meals frequently, avoid smoking and drinking, and drink tea regularly

Eating more frequently helps lower the body's low-density lipoprotein. While ensuring that the total daily food intake remains unchanged, 4 to 5 meals can be arranged a day. In addition, since tobacco and alcohol can affect the function of the cardiovascular system, patients with arteriosclerosis should quit smoking and drinking, but drinking red wine in moderation can prevent and treat arteriosclerosis. Drinking tea regularly can prevent arteriosclerosis because the catechin contained in tea can reduce serum cholesterol concentration and the ratio of cholesterol to phospholipids, increase blood vessel flexibility, elasticity and permeability, and prevent arteriosclerosis.
