The four limbs are stiff and unable to move. There are many reasons for this symptom, the most common one is rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis is a disease related to many factors, and is closely related to environmental factors. Neck and shoulder exercises

1. Clasp your fingers together and place them behind your head. Put your weight on your hands and arms. Press your head down. Straighten your neck and take 5 deep breaths.

2. Place your right hand on your left ear and hook it gently. Tilt your head to the right and take 5 deep breaths. Repeat several times and then practice with your left hand.

3. Slowly rotate your neck clockwise and counterclockwise 5 times each.

4. Raise your shoulders, exhale and lower them, repeat 4 to 5 times.

5. Shake your shoulders 5 times backward and 5 times forward.

6. Turn your face to the right and look downward and back, repeat 3 to 5 times, and then do it in the opposite direction.

7. Sit relaxed with your arms placed vertically on your knees, then raise your head and chest, alternating between the two movements 3 to 5 times.

Foot and Foot Exercises

Bend your legs and lift them parallel to your chest. Lift and lower them 5 times each until you feel comfortable.

Rotate your ankle 10 times clockwise and 10 times counterclockwise.

Bring your toes together, bend them upward, and straighten them downward, alternating 5 times.

Place your feet flat on the ground and then switch feet. Repeat the exercise 20 to 30 times.

Hand and face exercises

1. Press the top of your head with your fingertips and move it up and down. (tap)

2. Use your fingertips to gently massage from your temples to your jaw.

3. Pinch the upper eyelid with your index finger and thumb, and pull it outwards, repeating several times.

4. Massage around the eyes along the cheek bones.

Massage from the nostrils outward to the jaw, and then return to the starting point.

Massage down along your jawline.

Rotate your jaw 5 times to the left and right.

Press the tip of your nose with your palm and make circular motions 5 times in each direction.

Pinch the ear bone and pull it up, down, and outward 3 times each, then rotate it forward and backward 3 times each.

Appropriate exercise has a better effect on patients with joint diseases. Selectively allowing the affected joints to perform some activities is not only beneficial to the exchange of synovial fluid, the removal of metabolic products, inflammatory products and harmful substances in the joint cavity, and the relief of pain, but also can improve joint contracture. It strengthens the muscles around the joints, prevents muscle atrophy, and increases bone density, resulting in increased joint mobility and reduced functional impairment. Whole-body exercise can also enhance the patient's physical strength and cardiopulmonary function, improve their ability to take care of themselves, and help them recover both physically and mentally.

Principles to be followed in exercise: The standard is not to feel tired the day after exercise; try to exercise in the early stages of rheumatism.

2. Reasonable diet:

Since rheumatism is a chronic disease, it often presents with low fever, muscle atrophy and anemia, which consumes a lot of physical energy. Therefore, high protein should be supplemented. For those with osteoporosis, vitamin D and calcium should be increased, and those with anemia can add iron supplements. Soybeans are extremely rich in protein and trace elements. They can promote the metabolism of muscles, bones, joints, and tendons and help repair lesions. Nurses should encourage patients to eat some bean foods appropriately and avoid eating raw, cold, spicy, and seafood.

3. Keep warm and avoid cold and moisture:

90% of patients are sensitive to climate changes. When it is cloudy, rainy, cold or humid, local swelling and pain in the joints may worsen. The condition of some patients is related to the seasons, especially the transition between winter and spring, and autumn and winter. Symptoms of patients who are usually in a stable period may suddenly worsen, making all previous treatment efforts useless. Therefore, we must consciously pay attention to the impact of climate and seasons on diseases, adjust the temperature in a timely manner, focus on prevention, avoid the cold and keep warm, so as to reduce the adverse effects of environmental factors on diseases.

4. Build confidence and overcome anxiety:

As a patient, the first thing to do is to face reality and have a correct understanding of the disease. Some patients may not achieve satisfactory results after a period of treatment, which causes great mental and financial pressure, so they become anxious and lose confidence in treatment. Therefore, it is necessary for nurses to explain some knowledge to patients, because most patients can be cured, including patients with severe joint diseases such as late-stage rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, severe hyperplasia, and herniated disc. Therefore, as long as the patient maintains an optimistic mood, adopts a positive attitude, establishes a regular life system, participates in some physical exercise appropriately, cultivates an interest in life, and diverts attention from the disease.
