What are the four infection items?

Infection is quite common in our daily life. Once an infection occurs, if you do not pay attention to timely and good treatment, you may be easily infected, leading to some complications, and even inducing some greater harm. Therefore, we must strengthen prevention in our daily life. Once an infection occurs, we must pay attention to timely and good treatment, and strengthen daily care. Let us learn about it.

What are the four infection items?

The four infectious disease tests are hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis and AIDS, which are also highly prevalent infectious diseases. Strengthen the inspection, prevention and treatment of four infectious diseases, strengthen intervention in the population with the disease, prevent mother-to-child transmission, promote eugenics and give birth to healthy babies!

Inspection items

1. Hepatitis B two-and-a-half

Among the four infectious diseases, there are five indicators responsible for monitoring the hepatitis B virus, commonly known as "two pairs and a half of hepatitis B". These five indicators are: hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), hepatitis B surface antibody (HBsAb), hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg), hepatitis B e antibody (HBeAb), and hepatitis B core antibody (HBcAb).

There are two reasons why women should check their hepatitis B test before pregnancy. First, because the hepatitis B virus is transmitted vertically, if women do the hepatitis B test before pregnancy, the doctor can understand whether the pregnant woman is carrying hepatitis markers and whether the fetus will carry hepatitis markers. Second, if a woman does not do the hepatitis B test before pregnancy and is a carrier of hepatitis B virus after pregnancy, it may affect the development of various systems of the fetus and increase perinatal morbidity and mortality.

2. Hepatitis C

The virus can be transmitted sexually and from mother to child; if the mother is positive for hepatitis C virus (HCV-RNA) at the time of delivery, the risk of the newborn baby being infected with the virus will increase to 4%-7%. Therefore, couples of childbearing age must check for hepatitis C before planning to get pregnant.

Among the four infectious diseases, there is one indicator responsible for monitoring the hepatitis C virus: hepatitis C antibody (HCV-Ab).

Negative (-) indicates no infection with HCV;

Positive (+) indicates infection with hepatitis C virus;

3. Syphilis

Syphilis is a chronic, systemic sexually transmitted disease caused by Treponema pallidum. Pregnant women with syphilis can transmit the disease to their fetus through the placenta, causing intrauterine infection of the fetus, which can lead to miscarriage, premature birth, stillbirth, or the birth of a child with congenital syphilis.

Among the four infectious diseases, there are two indicators responsible for monitoring syphilis, TRUST and TPPA:

4. AIDS

HIV is a virus that can attack the human immune system and can be transmitted through blood, mother-to-child transmission, and sexual transmission, so it is very important for couples of childbearing age to do a good job of AIDS prevention.

Negative (-) indicates no HIV infection;

Positive (+) indicates HIV infection

Note: AIDS screening is very strict. If the initial screening shows that the HIV antibody is positive (+), the doctor will arrange for you to re-examine and conduct further screening. If it is still positive (+), the hospital will report it to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention and request a final examination. If the final examination is positive (+), it means that you are infected with HIV.

Note:

1. You do not need to fast. If you have multiple blood tests, it is recommended that you go to the hospital on an empty stomach to avoid having your blood drawn twice.

2. Patients who undergo immunotherapy, gynecological surgery or hysteroscopic surgery can be exempted from examination within 3 months if there are no abnormal results; those who have no abnormal results in other aspects can be exempted from examination within 6 months.
