How to treat genital eczema

How to treat genital eczema

When we talk about eczema, we think of it on the face, arms, and thighs. In fact, there is a type of eczema that specifically grows on the genitals. Its cause is similar to that of eczema in other parts of the body. It is mainly due to the parasitism of external pathogens and the interaction with the environment. Apply zinc oxide ointment on the areas where eczema occurs, and at the same time be careful not to allow any irritation. The area affected by eczema should be kept cool and ventilated, but since it is located on the genitals, you can only wear breathable pants.

General treatment

General treatment is to trace the cause as much as possible, isolate allergens and various adverse stimuli, and treat systemic chronic diseases such as indigestion, intestinal parasites, diabetes, mental and neurological disorders, etc. Keep the perineum clean and dry, do not use soap to clean skin lesions, and do not apply irritating antipruritic drugs. Avoid allergenic foods: such as various foreign proteins; do not drink alcohol or eat spicy foods, etc., avoid excessive fatigue and mental stress.

Topical treatments

Local treatment is the main method, and cold wet compresses with saline are used in the acute phase. Apply zinc oxide ointment when erythema, blisters and exudation are not obvious. If there is no exudate or pustules, 1% phenolic glycerin lotion can be used for external washing. If there is obvious exudation, 3% boric acid solution and 1:8000-1:5000 potassium manganate solution can be used for cold wet compress. If erosion occurs, it is advisable to use compound copper sulfate solution for external washing to prevent corrosion and astringency.

In case of secondary bacterial and fungal infection, corresponding antibacterial and antifungal ointments such as 0.5% neomycin ointment, 2% oxytetracycline and zinc oxide ointment can be used for smearing. 0.1% ethacridine (Rivanol) solution can be used for wet compresses. In the scab period, in addition to wet compresses, triamcinolone acetate (triamcinolone) cream, fluocinolone acetonide cream, etc. can be applied to astringe and relieve itching and keep the area dry.

Recipes for treating vulvar eczema

1. Keep the perineum exposed and ventilated at night, for example, you can sleep naked.

2. Pickles, mustard greens, radishes, and cucumbers can all be used. Burn them into charcoal and grind them into fine powder. Mix it with sesame oil and apply it to the affected area.

3. Patients with eczema should learn to control their emotions, ensure that they are in a good mood and have a good daily routine.

4. Rinse the affected area with rice vinegar (do not use vinegar essence) once every night. There will generally be a tingling sensation in the first few days, which will disappear on its own later.

5. Patients with eczema should try to maintain the indoor temperature and relative humidity within a certain range to ensure that the skin is not too dry.

6. For those with local moisture and edema, you can sprinkle some loose powder of the skin-growing type on the affected area; for those with local dryness, you can apply some loose and fragrant oil of the skin-growing type on the affected area.

7. Keep the vagina clean, which is very important for both prevention and treatment. Young girls can use low-concentration potassium permanganate water to rinse their genitals. Wash your vulva frequently and change your underwear frequently.

8. Control blood sugar and use alkaline products to clean the vulva. The vaginal glycogen content and acidity of female diabetics are relatively high, making them easily invaded by fungi. Therefore, while controlling blood sugar, you should also pay attention to cleaning the vulva and choose products with a weak alkaline pH value.

9. In daily life, you must pay attention to the combination of diet and supplement more nutrition. Patients with eczema should eat more foods containing vitamin A, such as lean meat or animal liver. Then there is one thing that needs to be kept in mind, that is, patients with eczema should avoid eating shrimp and spicy foods, and not drink strong tea or coffee.
