We all suffer from some diseases in life. Some of these illnesses are very mild and can be cured through medication or the body's own healing ability. But some diseases are caused by problems with our body organs, which makes them difficult to cure. Especially our heart, if there is a disease, it will threaten our life. So, do you know the dangers of an enlarged heart? What are the dangers of having an enlarged heart? An enlarged heart attack may be gradual, with angina pectoris occurring several weeks before the onset of the attack. But it can also strike suddenly and without warning. The pain from an enlarged heart attack can range in severity from a tightness in the chest to an extremely painful bursting sensation. The pain may be persistent or may last only a few minutes and then disappear and return again. This pain can also occur during exercise or when you are emotionally stressed. It is different from angina in that it persists even when you stop exercising or the emotional stress subsides. Other possible symptoms of an overly large heart attack include dizziness, shortness of breath, sweating, chills, nausea, and fainting. In a few cases (mostly in older people with enlarged heart attacks), symptoms may be minimal or nonexistent. This condition is called silent infarction and can only be diagnosed by certain tests in the hospital. In the United States, more people die from heart disease than from any other disease. Among deaths caused by heart disease, the most common cause is death from heart attack, but among heart disease cases, only 1/3 are fatal, and at least the other 2/3 are non-fatal. After increasing numbers of deaths from heart attacks in Western countries for much of the past century, the death rate in the United States stopped increasing in the late 1960s. Recently, the rate of increase in the mortality rate from this disease in Europe has also slowed down. Some doctors attribute the improvement to a greater awareness and implementation of lifestyle changes to prevent coronary artery disease. After briefly understanding the various hazards that an enlarged heart can bring to patients, people should take various preventive measures in their lives. Of course, patients with an enlarged heart should receive treatment as soon as possible to avoid worsening their condition and causing more serious impacts on their health and life. |
