1. Oral sedatives and analgesics

If the toothache occurs suddenly and severely, you may want to take some sedatives such as diazepam and chlordiazepoxide, or painkillers such as aspirin, painkillers, Panax notoginseng tablets, Yunnan Baiyao, etc. to temporarily relieve the pain. However, these medicines should not be taken for a long time, and children and the elderly should pay attention to reducing the dosage.

2. Traditional Chinese medicine for internal use

(1) Quick-acting soup for toothache: 30g of Radix Rehmanniae, 30g of Gypsum, 10g of Cortex Moutan, 12g of Cortex Citrus Aurantii, 9g of Schizonepeta Tenuifolia, and 9g of Saposhnikovia Divaricata. First, decoct the gypsum for 30 minutes, then add the remaining herbs and decoct for another 30 minutes; decoct for a second time for 30 minutes. Mix the two decoctions and take them in two doses. Take 1 dose daily, for 1 to 7 consecutive doses. Suitable for toothache, swollen gums, bleeding, etc. caused by caries or gingivitis.

92) Recipe for clearing heat and detoxifying: 3 grams of Coptis chinensis, 9 grams of Phellodendron chinense, 9 grams of Phellodendron amurense, 15 grams of Viola chinensis, 15 grams of Taraxacum mongolicum, and 15 grams of Indigo naturalis. Decoction in water twice and take in two doses. Take 1 dose daily, for 3 to 7 consecutive doses. Suitable for symptoms such as swollen and painful gums, bleeding, red and greasy tongue coating, thirst, and bad breath.

(3) Prescription for promoting blood circulation and relieving pain: 15g of Chuanxiong, 10g of Chinese Angelica, 15g of Red Peony Root, 10g of Saposhnikovia, 9g of Asarum, and 10g of Fructus Dali. Decoction in water twice and take in two doses. Take 1 dose daily, for 3 to 7 consecutive doses. Suitable for people with toothache caused by dentin hypersensitivity, enamel damage, etc.

3. Traditional Chinese Medicine Ginger Moxibustion

This is a method commonly used by the people in our country. Take 1 slice of fresh ginger and 2 to 3 sticks of moxa. Cut the fresh ginger slice into the size of a five-cent coin and place it on the Hegu point or the toothache point (the 3rd and 4th metacarpal bones on the palm, 1 inch away from the palm print), place the moxa stick on the ginger slice, and continue moxibustion for 2 to 3 times. For toothache on the left side, apply moxibustion to the right side acupoints; for toothache on the right side, apply moxibustion to the left side acupoints. If the toothache still persists, you can apply moxibustion to the cheek car, Xiaguan, and Sizhukong points at the same time. For maxillary toothache, you can also use Sibai, and for mandibular toothache, you can use Chengjiang.
