Premenstrual symptoms

1. There are obvious changes in leucorrhea before the menstrual period, and the most obvious symptom is the increase of leucorrhea. Before menstruation, the pelvic cavity becomes congested and the blood flow to the cervix and vagina increases, so more leucorrhea is secreted than usual.

2. When the period is approaching, the discharge may be a little pink, and then gradually turn into blood, which is menstruation. After the menstruation is over, the blood flow in the uterus and vagina returns to normal and the leucorrhea also decreases.

3. Edema usually occurs one week before menstruation. Edema may also occur at other times and worsen before menstruation. Weight gain due to edema. Edema may also be accompanied by headache, runny nose, heaviness in the lower limbs, abdominal distension, constipation, etc. Breast pain can occur before or after menstruation. There are small nodules in the breasts, which are painful to touch. The pain becomes better after menstruation, but reappears before the next menstruation.

4. Premenstrual discomfort, such as pelvic heaviness, back pain, headache, breast swelling, edema, irritability, and anger. The disease is generally mild and does not require treatment. However, some women have severe premenstrual symptoms that affect their work and life, which is called premenstrual syndrome.

5. Premenstrual syndrome usually occurs 7 to 14 days before menstruation, is most severe 2 to 3 days before menstruation, and disappears or is significantly alleviated after menstruation. Discomfort is multifaceted and varies from person to person. Some women have more prominent edema, some women have more obvious breast pain, and some women mainly have mental symptoms.

How can women relieve menstrual discomfort ?

1. Eat more calcium-rich foods.

Health experts have also found that as long as calcium is supplemented one week before the menstrual period and more foods rich in mineral calcium are eaten, such as shrimp and other seafood, these uncomfortable symptoms can be alleviated. For example, hunger can be reduced by 48%.

2. Eat more high-fiber foods.

Women should also eat more high-fiber foods starting one week before their period.

Because these foods are rich in fiber, they can promote the excretion of estrogen in women's bodies and increase the content of the mineral magnesium in the blood. The mineral magnesium has a calming and soothing effect in the human body and helps to calm negative emotions such as anxiety, tension, and irritability.

Vegetables, fruits, whole grains, whole wheat bread, brown rice, oatmeal, etc. are all high-fiber foods.

3. Press the Taichong point.

Location: Taichong point is located about one finger width upwards from the gap between the first and second toes.

Method: Whenever you have time every day, use the thumb of one hand to press the Taichong point on one foot. Press with a little force each time, hold for 5 seconds, release, and repeat. Repeat this for 3 minutes. If you do this every day, you can effectively relieve the irritability during menstruation.
