What are the treatments for fasciitis? How to treat it?

The cause of fasciitis is still unclear. It is generally believed that it is related to cold, injury, and inflammation. Ice compresses and drug treatments can be chosen for treatment. Training is also required, and patients must follow the doctor's instructions for correct treatment.

1. Ice

When fascia rupture occurs, use ice compress to relieve pain and control inflammation. Ice compress causes local blood vessels to constrict and reduce blood circulation, thereby reducing tissue metabolism rate and inhibiting inflammatory response. If this can be used as soon as possible for sports injuries, it will be twice the result with half the effort. If this opportunity is missed, the inflammatory reaction has already occurred or is in full swing, and whether to apply ice depends on the clinical symptoms.

Note that ice compresses should be applied in several times, with an interval of at least three minutes or more. It is important not to exceed fifteen to twenty minutes each time. Applying ice for too long will cause excessive contraction of local blood vessels and cause frostbite. You can apply ice for 10 minutes, rest for 10 minutes, and then repeat.

2. Ice drug treatment

In Western medicine, there are diclofenac diethylamine emulsion, safflower oil, Voltaren ointment, etc., which can reduce swelling and relieve pain. Traditional Chinese medicine also has a long history of treating plantar fasciitis. It can be treated with some Chinese medicines that can reduce inflammation, relieve pain, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, promote meridians and collaterals, open up the orifices and penetrate the bones, and dispel wind and cold. The external herbal plasters have significant effects, and have less irritation to the skin and are not prone to allergies. They can penetrate deep into the lesions, relax the muscles and tendons, regenerate the damaged tissue of the heel, and restore the elasticity of the heel. Applying the patch externally on the heel muscle surface can stimulate nerve endings, dilate blood vessels, promote local blood circulation, improve nutrition of surrounding tissues, and achieve the purpose of reducing swelling, inflammation and analgesia. Safe, economical and quick relief of heel pain.

3. Recovery fitness training

Wait at least a week after the pain disappears before starting. You can adapt slowly and gradually increase the amount of exercise that puts force on the soles of your feet. Generally, training starts with walking training. When you can walk at a slightly faster pace for at least 30 minutes without any pain, gradually increase the walking distance and speed. This is a gradual process. If you experience obvious pain or other discomfort during training, you can take a step back and slow down your training.

When training, it is necessary to use kinesio taping or support strap techniques for protection, especially when not wearing special orthotic insoles. When practicing, it is also very important to choose the right running shoes.

Training method: Before each training, stretch the soles of your feet, then walk for about 5 minutes; after training, apply ice for 10 minutes, and then stretch for about 30 seconds. Gradually increase your activity until you can run comfortably, then return to normal exercise.
