Will transaminases increase during menstruation?

Will transaminases increase during menstruation?

During menstruation, the transaminase level may increase slightly. Don't worry at this time, as it is a normal physiological phenomenon. Just get enough rest and pay attention to your diet. Be wary of elevated transaminase levels due to some diseases. The most common ones are liver diseases, such as hepatitis, cirrhosis, etc. The more serious one is liver cancer. Once the transaminase level increases, some symptoms are likely to appear.

Will transaminases increase during menstruation?

It may be slightly higher, but there is no obvious problem. If you get enough rest, it will generally improve on its own. If necessary, you need to rule out some other diseases.

(1) Various viral hepatitis, cirrhosis, fatty liver, liver cancer, etc. can all cause varying degrees of elevated transaminase levels. Inflammation, necrosis, poisoning and other damages to the liver cause transaminase to be released from liver cells into the blood, so diseases of the liver itself can cause varying degrees of elevated transaminase levels.

(2) All organs and tissues in the human body except the liver contain transaminases, so if these organs become diseased, the transaminase levels will also increase. (3) Transaminase is excreted through the bile duct, so if there is a disease in the bile duct, it will also cause an increase in transaminase. All of the above reasons are phenomena that occur in the body itself. Then, external drugs that damage the liver can also increase the transaminase level. Pregnancy, acute fatty liver of pregnancy and daily strenuous exercise can also cause a temporary increase in the transaminase level. Of course, there are also temporary increases that are not related to liver disease, such as excessive fatigue.

Symptoms

In general, if the transaminase level rises and the condition is mild, there will be no obvious symptoms; if the condition is severe, symptoms such as fatigue, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, etc. will appear. Many tissues in the human body contain transaminase. For example, cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarction and myocarditis may cause elevated transaminase levels. If you have biliary obstructive diseases such as gallstones, the level of transaminase in your blood may increase due to bile stasis. Liver disease experts point out that if you find that your transaminase level is high, don't be too nervous and don't worry that you have a serious liver disease, but you must pay enough attention to it, get enough rest, and receive regular review and treatment in a timely manner. Some symptoms of high aspartate aminotransferase imbalance include fatigue, insomnia and dreaminess. These are symptoms of the late stage and occur when liver function is affected. At the beginning, the patient may not have any symptoms and does not care, but later on, symptoms such as fatigue, poor appetite, insomnia, dreaminess, low fever, aversion to greasy food, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, and bloating will appear. This means that liver function has been affected. It is a wise choice to treat hepatitis B as much as possible before it affects liver function.
