Nowadays, more and more people are suffering from mental illness. Mental illness is more difficult to treat than illnesses that can be diagnosed through conventional medical examinations. Patients with mental illness are generally very dependent on psychiatrists. But psychologists can only play a promoting role and give patients certain advice. To truly cure mental illness, it still requires everyone's own perseverance to overcome it. So, how does mental illness come about? 1. Psychosocial factors and reactive mental disorders Most people believe that mental illness is caused by stimulation. If someone around them suffers from a mental illness, everyone will be suspicious, "He must have been stimulated by some kind of mental illness." In fact, this understanding is incomplete. Mental illness is not entirely caused by mental stimulation. The so-called stimulation is social and psychological factors, which are only closely related to the occurrence of mental illness. However, there are exceptions. Among mental illnesses, there is a type of mental disorder that is directly caused by psychosocial factors, namely reactive mental disorder. Reactive mental disorders were previously called psychogenic mental disorders, meaning that the mental disorders are directly caused by psychological factors. However, we also found that some people become ill while others remain unharmed despite suffering the same kind of blow. This is because whether mental factors cause illness depends not only on the nature and intensity of the mental factors, but also on the patient's personality and the degree of importance they attach to the stimulating event. 2. Inheritance and gene mutation Schizophrenia is also a disease with significant genetic characteristics. If one of the parents suffers from schizophrenia, the chance of their children suffering from the disease is 10%-15%. Nash's son also suffers from schizophrenia. More than half of schizophrenia patients suffer from a genetic mutation rather than genetics. Of the 40 gene mutations associated with schizophrenia, half are caused by inheritance and half by one's own factors. 3. Inflammation Mental illness is a disease caused by abnormal brain function. In addition to heredity and gene mutation, there are many external environmental factors that induce it. For example, brain trauma and vitamin deficiency can cause brain dysfunction, leading to abnormalities in patients' perception, thinking, emotion and behavior. 3. 4. Diet Eating habits may also contribute to mental illness. Esmailzadeh's research team at the Faculty of Medicine at Isfahan University in Iran recently discovered that vitamin D deficiency may induce schizophrenia in people. The vitamin D level of schizophrenia patients is 5.91 ng/ml lower than that of normal people. The risk of schizophrenia in people with vitamin D deficiency is 2.16 times that of normal individuals. At the same time, 65% of schizophrenia patients will have vitamin D deficiency. |
