What to do if your cervical spine becomes stiff

What to do if your cervical spine becomes stiff

There are many types of cervical spine diseases. Some people experience cervical pain, while others often experience cervical stiffness. The stiffness of the cervical spine is usually caused by sitting for a long time without moving. Everyone should pay attention to the fact that they should get up and move their limbs and cervical spine every time they work for a period of time. So, what should you do if your cervical spine becomes stiff?

1. Move your neck and pat your neck: Whether you are sitting or standing, close your eyes when you have free time, turn your neck left and right fifty times, and bend forward and backward fifty times. Be gentle. After finishing, you can use your palms to swing your neck from the neck and shoulders back as far as possible to pat your neck, alternating hands to pat each for fifty times.

2. Pinch the cervical vertebrae and rub the back of the head: first spread out the thumb and index finger of your right hand, and pinch from the occipital bone down to the cervical vertebrae, pinching and releasing from top to bottom for 1 minute, then switch to the left hand. Pinch three times with each hand. Rub the back of the head, press the Zhongfengchi point on the hairline under the occipital bone with the tips of both thumbs, and hold the two sides of the head with the remaining four fingers together. Use both thumbs to rub outwards and rotate 20 times at the same time, and then rub inwards and rotate 20 times.

3. Pinch the shoulder well (inside of the high shoulder bone) and pat the shoulders and back: first use the thumb and index finger of your right hand to pinch the left shoulder well for two minutes, then use your left hand to pinch the right shoulder well for two minutes. Alternate between the two hands twice each; then use the right palm to pat the left shoulder and back, and then use the left palm to pat the right shoulder and back. Clap your hands alternately.

4. Rub the neck: Unbutton your sleeves, and press your palms on both sides of your neck, one hand under the occipital bone and the other hand on the cervical vertebrae. Massage the opposite sides vigorously with both hands for 2 minutes at the same time to dredge the meridians, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and promote blood circulation in the neck.

The above method is more effective when combined with hornet vinegar. Hornet vinegar is produced by Luoyang Wangcao Biotechnology Development Co., Ltd. and is composed of soapberry, hornet, white flower snake, scorpion, centipede, Millettia reticulata, Glechoma longituba, Herba peony root, acetic acid, etc. It has the functions of dispelling cold, wind and dampness, promoting circulation of meridians, unblocking qi and blood, promoting blood circulation, strengthening tendons and relieving pain, and improving the functional activities of limbs. External application of hornet vinegar can improve local blood circulation, accelerate the absorption of inflammatory exudates, reduce swelling and relieve blood stasis, promote blood circulation and activate collaterals, and has the effect of promoting qi and relieving pain. It reduces or relieves local swelling, tension, contracture or stiffness of muscles, tendons and ligaments, thereby allowing qi and blood to flow smoothly, improving local tissue nutrition and achieving the purpose of functional recovery.
