White discharge from lower body

White discharge from lower body

Some girls find that there is some white secretion on their underwear from time to time. It is sticky and although there is no odor, they are always worried that they have some strange disease and dare not ask their mothers. Leucorrhea is a white liquid secreted from the female vagina. It contains antibodies such as lactobacillus, which can inhibit the growth of vaginal bacteria. It can be seen that leucorrhea, like menstruation, is a normal physiological phenomenon for women.

1. What is the cause of white vaginal discharge?

1. During the development of women, vaginal discharge may occur. If it is white and translucent, it is normal. It is abnormal if the color is yellow or red and has an odor. This is a stage every girl goes through.

2. Leucorrhea is a small amount of mucous substance secreted from the female vagina. It is like white and transparent egg white. It is odorless and non-irritating. Leucorrhea, like menstruation, is a normal physiological manifestation of women. It is recommended to change underwear frequently to maintain hygiene. Maintain a positive and healthy attitude.

3. If the leucorrhea is abnormal, the most common cause is vaginitis, which may cause the leucorrhea to become paste-like or milky. Some patients experience vulvar itching and burning sensation. It is recommended to go to the hospital for a vaginal discharge examination, a clear diagnosis, and reasonable arrangements for treatment.

2. What should normal leucorrhea look like?

Under normal circumstances, the quality and quantity of leucorrhea changes with the menstrual cycle. After the menstruation is over, the leucorrhea is less in amount, white in color and in a paste form. In the middle of the menstrual cycle when the ovaries are about to ovulate, due to the vigorous secretion of the cervical glands, the leucorrhea increases and becomes transparent, slightly sticky, and egg white-like. 2 to 3 days after ovulation, the leucorrhea becomes turbid, thick and sticky but with less amount. Before and after menstruation, due to pelvic congestion, vaginal mucosal exudate increases and leucorrhea often increases.

3. Leucorrhea classification

1. Physiological leucorrhea

Normal leucorrhea is white, paste-like or egg white-like, sticky, has no fishy smell, and is in small amount. It is called physiological leucorrhea. Due to the action of the pelvic floor muscles, the female vaginal opening is closed and the front and back walls are tightly attached.

2. Pathological leucorrhea

When there is inflammation of the reproductive tract such as vaginitis and acute cervicitis or cancer occurs, the amount of leucorrhea increases significantly and the properties change, which is called pathological leucorrhea.

3. Principles of treatment for abnormal leucorrhea

1. Trichomonas vaginitis: ① Treatment with oral metronidazole (do not drink alcohol during medication and within 72 hours of stopping medication); local treatment at the same time. Sexual partners are treated equally.

2. Fungal vaginitis: promptly stop using broad-spectrum antibiotics, estrogen, and corticosteroids. Place nystatin suppository/clotrimazole suppository/daktarin suppository equal vaginally.

3 Bacterial vaginosis or nonspecific vaginitis: mostly anaerobic infection, treated with topical or oral metronidazole.

4. Senile vaginitis: Estrogen supplementation increases vaginal resistance, and antibiotics inhibit bacterial growth.

5. Cervical polyps and submucosal myomas: surgical removal.

6. Malignant tumors: undergo tumor treatment.
