What is peony called?

Peony I believe everyone must have seen peony flowers in their lives. Peony flowers usually bloom in midsummer, and this flower buries its roots in the soil in winter. It will sprout on its own in spring. It is a flower with relatively tenacious vitality. Some people think that peony flowers look a bit like peonies because the two are the same plant, so what is peony called?

Peony: Also known as Jiangli, Lanweichun, Yurong, Lishi, Boneless Flower, Heiqianyi, etc. It belongs to the genus Paeoniaceae, subfamily Paeoniaceae, Ranunculaceae. There are about 35 species of Paeonia, distributed in temperate regions of Europe and Asia. They are divided into two groups according to their growth habits and disk shape. One is the peony group, which is a deciduous shrub or subshrub with a cup-shaped or disc-shaped disk, leathery or fleshy, completely covering the carpel or covering the base of the carpel. There are three kinds of peony produced in China (excluding variants), namely, peony, yellow peony and purple peony. There are about 30 species of plants in the Paeonia lactiflora group, which are mainly distributed in the temperate regions of Europe and Asia. Peony plants produced abroad are all important species of flowers, among which the most important four are: fern-leaf peony, with blood-red flowers, native to Bulgaria and the Caucasus; yellow peony, with light yellow flowers, or light green to white, native to the area between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea; yellow peony, with yellow flowers, native to the area between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea; red peony, with white to dark red flowers, native to southern Europe.

There are eight species and six varieties of peony plants in China, among which the one commonly called peony is the main original species of the modern peony variety group. The eight types of peonies are: grass peony, beautiful peony, peony, multi-flowered peony, white peony, Sichuan red peony, Xinjiang peony and narrow-leaved peony.

Herba peony is also known as mountain peony and wild peony. Its flowers are white, red, and purple. It is mainly distributed in eastern Sichuan, Guizhou, western Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Anhui, Hubei, northwestern Henan, southern Shaanxi, Shanxi, Hebei, and Northeast China. It is also distributed in North Korea, Japan and the Soviet Far East. Its variants include hairy-leaf peony.

The beautiful peony flower is red and is mainly distributed in northeastern Yunnan, western Guizhou, central and southern Sichuan, southern Gansu and southern Shaanxi.

Peony flowers are white, sometimes with dark purple patches at the base. They are mainly distributed in Northeast China, North China, Shaanxi and southern Gansu. It is also distributed in Korea, Japan, the Mongolian People's Republic and the Siberia region of the Soviet Union, and its varieties include the hairy-carpy peony.

The multi-flowered peony has white flowers and is mainly produced in southern Tibet, my country, and is also distributed in Nepal and northern India.
