White discharge after urination

White discharge after urination

14. Often, we can learn whether our body is healthy through our secretions, especially urination and defecation, which can help us understand more about other problems. For men, is it normal to have white secretions when urinating frequently? If the discharge is white, you should be alert to the possibility of a prostate problem. Generally speaking, when the prostate is inflamed, white discharge will flow out of the urethra.

1. What is the white secretion after men urinate?

Patients with chronic prostatitis may experience a small amount of white liquid flowing out of the urethra in the morning, at the end of urination, or during bowel movements due to congestion, swelling, and increased secretion of the prostate. This is called prostatic discharge, also known as white dripping, and is a reference indicator for diagnosing chronic prostatitis.

2. What is the white discharge that appears in the male urethra?

1. A small amount of sticky milky white secretion before and after urination

Before and after urination, a small amount of sticky milky white secretion flows out of the urethra, most of which is prostatic fluid, which may also be mixed with a small amount of secretion from the bulbourethral glands. This is because the prostate and bulbourethral glands are located at the bottom of the pelvis, and the muscles involved in defecation will compress these two glands when they contract, thereby expelling a small amount of secretions. Since normal defecation does not require much force, this white dripping phenomenon may not occur, or even if it occurs, it may not attract people's attention.

2. Frequent white dripping

When constipation or prostate inflammation occurs, this phenomenon of white discharge is very common. Frequent white discharge, large amounts of turbid liquid, and other corresponding symptoms may indicate chronic prostatitis. If the white discharge is serious, it must be treated early. Long-term discharge of prostatic fluid will have a great impact on sexual function.

3. Clear secretions

When a man is sexually stimulated physically or psychologically, one or several drops of clear secretion will often flow out of the urethra. This is neither semen nor prostatic fluid, but a normal physiological reaction of the human body. What flows out is the secretion of multiple paraurethral glands. There is a gland called paraurethral gland distributed in the human penis. When the penis is erect due to sexual excitement, the congested corpus cavernosum of the penis presses on the paraurethral gland, causing its secretions to flow out of the urethra opening, lubricating the glans and preparing for sexual intercourse. Therefore, it is unreasonable to worry about this phenomenon as prostatic discharge.

4. Gonococcal urethritis

If a large amount of white secretions flow out of the urethra, accompanied by obvious symptoms such as urgency, frequency, and pain when urinating, and a history of unclean sexual intercourse, it is most likely that you have gonococcal urethritis; if the secretions are less but there is obvious urinary tract irritation and a history of unclean sexual intercourse, you may have non-gonococcal urethritis. Both of these conditions are sexually transmitted diseases and should be treated as soon as possible, otherwise, there is a possibility of developing chronic prostatitis.
