Some people will feel some pain in the soles of their feet when walking after lumbar surgery. So what is the cause of this?

Precautions after surgery for lumbar disc herniation and lumbar fracture

Instruct patients on how to use waist belts correctly to avoid twisting of the spine during activities. Choose a waist circumference that corresponds to the patient's body shape, generally from the upper rib arch to the lower iliac crest, and should not be too tight. Practice getting out of bed while wearing a waist belt, and the standing exercise method is to stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, your hands on your waist, your chest and abdomen sticking out to contract your back muscles. Keep the correct posture when walking, keep your head up, chest out, and stomach in. When sitting, be sure to sit upright and don't bend over.

After discharge, continue the exercise content learned in the hospital, implement it selectively, the frequency and duration depend on the specific situation, the amount of exercise should be gradual, and there should be certain breaks in the exercise to avoid excessive fatigue of the waist.

Do not use the waist belt continuously for more than 3 months to avoid muscle atrophy.

Avoid strenuous activities and lifting heavy objects within 3-6 months, avoid sitting, running, jumping for long periods of time, and avoid sleeping on a soft bed. When lifting heavy objects from the ground, bend your knees and squat. Develop a good lifestyle, change your sitting posture frequently, strengthen your back and waist muscle exercises for more than half a year, and enhance the stability of your waist muscles and spine. Reduce the onset of chronic low back pain, prevent lumbar injuries and lumbar disc herniation.

Improve nutrition and maintain a good mood.

Keep warm and avoid cold stimulation.

For simple lumbar compression fracture, get out of bed and move around 8-12 weeks after injury, but do not bend over. Practice bending over after 3 months, and participate in appropriate labor after 4-6 months.
