How to treat aseptic inflammation of ankle bone marrow edema

Bones are the most critical parts of the human body. There are countless bones in the human body. No matter where the bones have problems, it will cause great inconvenience to the human body. Aseptic inflammation of the ankle bone marrow edema is a relatively complex bone disease. Patients with this disease often feel bone pain and have difficulty in movement, so they need to reduce inflammation as soon as possible. So, how should aseptic inflammatory ankle bone marrow edema be treated?

Ankle swelling and pain may be caused by three major diseases:

1. Rheumatoid arthritis:

Typical manifestations are mild or moderate fever and migratory polyarthritis. The affected joints are mostly large joints such as the knees, ankles, shoulders, elbows and wrists. The lesions are locally red, swollen, burning and severe pain. Some patients also have several joints affected at the same time. Atypical patients only have joint pain but no other inflammatory manifestations. Acute inflammation generally subsides in 2-4 weeks without leaving sequelae, but it often recurs.

2. Gout:

The common sites of attack are the thumb joint, ankle joint, knee joint, etc. In patients with long-term gout, attacks may occur in the finger joints and even the soft tissue part of the ear. The site of acute gout attack becomes red, swollen, hot and painful. It usually occurs at midnight and can wake people from sleep.

3. Osteoarthritis:

The distal and proximal interphalangeal joints of the hands, knees, elbows, shoulders and spinal joints are most commonly affected, while the wrist and ankle joints are less likely to be affected. The main pathological changes of this disease are cartilage degeneration and disappearance, as well as reactive proliferation of bone at the attachment sites of joint margin ligaments and under cartilage to form osteophytes, which cause joint pain, stiffness, deformity and functional impairment.

How to relieve ankle pain?

1. Do not eat cold food. For example, frozen food. Once you eat a lot of frozen food, the body will become colder, which may aggravate the condition. Therefore, patients should not eat frozen juice, mung bean soup, etc.

2. Don’t eat spicy food. This often occurs during the acute phase or acute attack. If you eat a lot of spicy food, the joints will become red, swollen and burning, and the ankle joints will also experience severe pain.

3. Prevent cold. In winter, the swollen and painful ankle joint should not be exposed to the air to prevent the cold air from freezing the wound.

4. Avoid rain and moisture. Pay attention to keeping the area of ankle joint pain warm, and be sure not to wear wet clothes, wet shoes, wet socks, etc. If it is a hot summer, don't seek coolness or drink too much cold drinks.

5. Drink milk. Milk is rich in calcium and various nutrients, which can help patients replenish adequate nutrition in time, and also provide calcium to help bones restore.

6. Do exercise. Appropriate exercise can help relieve joint swelling, but it should not be excessive, especially for patients with severe ankle swelling, who should never exercise.
