Is sleeping too much a disease?

Not everyone knows how to sleep. It seems like a simple thing, but it is quite difficult for many people. Many people often suffer from insomnia in life, but some people particularly like to sleep and always feel like sleeping. Although this phenomenon of sleepiness is not a disease, it may sometimes bring some troubles to life and work.

Is sleeping too much a disease?

Drowsiness is a temporary physiological phenomenon caused by the natural climate and rising temperature. It turns out that in the cold winter and early spring, people's skin sweat glands contract due to the influence of low temperatures to reduce the dissipation of heat in the body and maintain a constant body temperature. As spring approaches, the temperature rises, the skin pores expand, the blood supply increases, and the oxygen supply to the brain decreases accordingly, affecting brain function and making the biological clock less accurate. The warm spring sun increases the intensity of the magnetic field, and the body naturally responds to this. In winter, due to insufficient ultraviolet rays and sunlight, the body lacks sufficient vitamin D, which greatly reduces the body's immunity and working ability. In addition, the intake of vitamins is also low, so when spring comes, most of the body's functions are in a semi-dormant state. Therefore, at the turn of winter and spring, we are particularly sensitive to changes in weather. Some people call this "sleepy fatigue".

Although sleepiness is not a disease, it can affect people's study and work. For example, sleepiness is a very distressing thing for students with great study pressure, busy white-collar workers, drivers who need to concentrate, etc.

Ways to prevent drowsiness:

Method 1: Keep a regular rhythm of life

To overcome sleepiness, first of all, you should control the rhythm of your life. Don’t stay up all night to study on impulse every few days. Go to bed early or late, and develop a more regular life habit.

Practice has shown that making appropriate adjustments to the living habits developed in winter so that the body can gradually adapt to the rising temperature is a key link in relieving sleepiness. For example, in winter, people usually keep doors and windows closed to keep warm, but in spring, we should open doors and windows frequently to allow indoor air to flow smoothly; in terms of daily life, we should also pay attention to ensuring a certain amount of sleep time. Sufficient sleep helps eliminate fatigue.

Method 2: Exercise more

When spring comes and everything revives, you should go outdoors more often and do some moderate fitness exercises, which can effectively improve your physiological functions, increase your body's respiratory and metabolic functions, accelerate circulation in the body, increase the brain's oxygen supply, and relieve sleepiness. For example, strolling, doing exercises, running, and practicing Tai Chi in the morning are very beneficial for boosting spirits.

Method 3: Diet adjustment

Modern medical research believes that sleepiness is related to human body protein deficiency, the body being in an acidic environment and insufficient vitamin intake. Therefore, when adjusting your diet during spring sleepiness, you should pay attention to increasing protein intake, such as appropriately adding fish, eggs, milk, soy products, pork liver, chicken, peanuts and other foods.
