What causes hair tangles?

What causes hair tangles?

Most women have long hair, so they all want their hair to look smooth and shiny. Because hair has a huge impact on a person's appearance, some female friends find that their hair is very tangled and even difficult to comb when combing their hair in the morning, which causes most female friends great distress. So what exactly is the cause of hair tangles?

Causes of hair tangles:

1. Dry and tangled hair

2. Hair is damaged

3. Excessive use of styling products

4. Excessive exposure of the scalp

5. Complex hairstyle causes

6. Long hair is prone to tangling

How to prevent knots:

1. Comb your hair before washing it

Comb your hair before shampooing so that it is less likely to get tangled when you wash it.

2. Use a hair mask

The most likely cause of tangled hair is dry hair. If conditioner doesn't help, you can use a hair mask more often each week to relieve the problem of dry hair. Hair masks are more effective at smoothing hair than conditioner.

3. Don’t rub your hair

After washing your hair, gently dry it with a towel. Do not rub it vigorously to avoid tangling your hair.

4. Olive Oil

If your hair is tangled, don't comb it first, otherwise it will be tied into knots. Instead, apply a small amount of olive oil on the ends of your hair and the tangles, rub them gently, and you can easily comb your hair out.

5. Use a wide-tooth comb

Using a wide-tooth comb, comb your hair out and go through it several times to get most of the tangles out. Then, use a fine-tooth comb to separate the hair into small sections and comb them through.

6. Don’t force it

When combing your hair, never pull it hard or comb it downwards desperately. Doing this not only makes it difficult to comb your hair, but it also damages your scalp and hair follicles and causes hair to fall out, which is not worth the effort. If your hair is still tangled after using the above methods, you will have to reluctantly cut off the tangled parts.

Additional information

Hair refers to the hair that grows on the head. Hair is not an organ, so it does not contain nerves and blood vessels, but it does contain cells. In addition to making people more beautiful, hair is mainly used to protect the head. Soft and fluffy hair is elastic, can withstand lighter collisions, and can also help the evaporation of sweat on the head. The average person has about 100,000 hairs. Among all the hairs, head hair is the longest, especially on women with long hair. Some can grow to 90-100cm, or even 150cm, but generally do not exceed 200cm.

From bottom to top, hair can be divided into four parts: hair papilla, hair follicle, hair root and hair shaft. The physiological characteristics and functions of hair mainly depend on the hair papilla, hair follicles and sebaceous glands below the epidermis of the scalp.

The hair follicle is the part of the hair root in the dermis, which is composed of an inner root sheath, an outer root sheath and a hair bulb. The inner root sheath is the sheath layer directly adjacent to the hair in the late stage of the hair growth phase. The inner root sheath is a stiff, thick-walled keratinized tube that determines the cross-sectional shape of the hair as it grows. The lower part of the inner hair sheath is composed of three layers: the HUXLEY sheath, the HENLE sheath and the surface layer of the inner root sheath. Before the hair becomes keratinized, the inner root sheath grows together with the hair, and its source is the cells that reproduce at the bottom of the hair follicle. Close to the epidermis, the inner root sheath detaches from the epidermis and hair follicle.
