Why are the skin on my fingers peeling?

Many people experience peeling of their hands, especially when the weather is dry, the peeling of the hands will become more and more severe and obvious. Since the causes of peeling hands are different for each person, the areas of peeling hands are also different. Some people peel on the palms, while others peel on the fingers. But peeling of hands is a very distressing thing, so what is the cause of peeling fingers?

Different types of peeling on fingers

Type 1: Peeling

Symptoms: White skin peels off on the surface of both hands, without itching or inflammation.

Treatment: Doctors point out that this is the most common and most likely symptom of hand keratin exfoliation in early autumn. Although it affects appearance, it generally does not require treatment. It will heal on its own after 2-3 weeks as long as you avoid contact with irritating chemicals such as soap and hand sanitizer.

It can be combined with oral medication for treatment: soak 30 grams each of the Chinese medicine Atractylodes lancea, Phellodendron chinense, and Atractylodes lancea, apply them on the palms, and take vitamin C at the same time.

Type 2: Dry dermatitis

Symptoms: White skin peels off on both hands and cracks on fingers.

Treatment: Dry peeling in early autumn is most common in young and middle-aged women and is related to frequent hand washing with soap. You should reduce the frequency of hand washing, avoid using alkaline soaps and hand sanitizers, and try to wear gloves when washing clothes.

Go to the hospital or pharmacy to buy antiseptic cleansing liquid such as Fu Kang Jie for external application.

What causes peeling of fingers?

Type 3: Ringworm

Symptoms : Peeling occurs first on one hand and then spreads to both hands. The palms appear erythematous, inflamed, and itchy, and most patients with tinea manuum also suffer from tinea pedis.

Treatment: Because tinea manuum is contagious, you need to go to the hospital for early diagnosis and treatment, and insist on applying the special ointment prescribed by the doctor.

Type 4: Dyshidrosis

Symptoms: Red blisters appear on both hands at the same time, with severe itching.

Treatment: It is related to sweaty hands and sensitive constitution, and requires external or oral medication under the guidance of a doctor.
