What to do if ovarian function is weak

What to do if ovarian function is weak

There is an important part in the structure of female reproductive organs called the ovary, which is mainly responsible for producing eggs to combine with sperm to form fertilized eggs. However, since every woman's physical constitution is different, the strength of the ovaries is also different. Some women have found that their ovarian function is much weaker than that of other women, and even affects their fertility. What should they do if their ovarian function is weak?

Premature ovarian failure refers to a situation in which a woman who once had a natural menstrual cycle develops ovarian atrophy before the age of 45, with a decrease in menstrual volume, shortened menstrual period, longer menstrual cycle, and even persistent amenorrhea. The causes may be infection, iatrogenic premature ovarian failure, idiopathic premature ovarian failure and immune factors.

At the same time, clinically, secondary sexual characteristics retract, and menopausal symptoms such as hot face, irritability, and susceptibility to colds occur; the woman is prone to catching colds, and her blood follicle-stimulating hormone level increases to more than 40 units, which is equivalent to the level of postmenopausal women; while her blood estradiol level is significantly low. Gynecological examination showed obvious atrophy of the internal reproductive organs and thin and congested vaginal mucosa. Ovarian biopsy was performed by laparotomy, and ovarian atrophy was observed. Microscopic examination showed that the ovarian cortex was filled with fibrous tissue, and no primordial follicles or other follicles of different levels were visible.

Diet therapy

1. Take vitamin C and vitamin E

Studies have shown that taking 90 mg of vitamin C and 30 mg of vitamin E every day can reduce the risk of ovarian cancer by 50%. However, simply relying on getting it from food is not enough, so it is best to consult a doctor about taking pills or preparations to supplement it.

2. High-calcium diet

The latest research in the United States shows that daily intake of high-calcium foods can reduce the incidence of ovarian cancer. According to data, people who consume high-calcium foods every day have a 46% lower incidence of ovarian cancer than those who do not consume enough calcium.

3. Eat less fried eggs

Women who regularly eat fried eggs may increase their risk of ovarian cancer. Because the process of frying eggs will lead to the formation of many biologically active decomposition products, such as cholesterol oxides. These products have strong cytotoxic effects, especially affecting the affinity of female ovarian tissue, and can become inducers of cancer and tumors, increasing the possibility of ovarian cancer. In addition, fried potatoes and smoked pork are also causes of ovarian cancer.

4. Folic Acid

Increasing the intake of foods rich in folic acid can reduce the incidence of ovarian cancer in women. Swiss researchers found that women who regularly eat foods rich in folic acid have a 74% lower risk of developing ovarian cancer than women who rarely eat folic acid foods. As for folic acid, it is a water-soluble vitamin B that is rich in green vegetables, citrus fruits and whole grains.

5. Eat more carrots

British nutritionists have found that women who eat carrots an average of five times a week are 50% less likely to develop ovarian cancer than the average woman, and American experts have reached a similar conclusion.
