Massage techniques for infantile rash

Massage techniques for infantile rash

The human body is a relatively complex structure, which can be affected by many factors and may even cause some adverse reactions. This is even more likely to cause physical problems for babies whose body functions are not fully developed. For example, some babies are prone to roseola infantum, which manifests as frequent fever and persistent high fever. When this happens, many parents are very worried. At the very least, give the child some medicine, but many people do not advocate this method and prefer to use some massage techniques to treat this disease. So what are the massage techniques for roseola infantum?

Don't rush to take medicine, pediatric massage can relieve

The weather has been hot and humid recently, and the pediatric outpatient clinic of the Chinese Medicine Hospital has received many children with acute rash. Because the onset of the disease is sudden, the child may be fine just a moment ago but suddenly have a fever, and the high fever does not subside, which often makes parents panic.

Roseola infantum is mainly caused by internal conflict between wind-heat and heat toxicity. Currently, hospitals mostly use Motrin suspension, which is a liquid and is more suitable for children under 1 to 2 years old. In addition, you can also take Chinese patent medicines such as Shuanghuanglian oral liquid, Yinqiao Jiedu granules, and pediatric Qingrejiedu oral liquid appropriately. While using traditional Chinese medicine for treatment, pediatric massage therapy can be used on the children. It is also effective in treating various types of roseola infantum. It is painless and has no side effects, and is easily accepted by parents and children.

It is recommended that parents can push down the Tianzhu bone (i.e. the cervical vertebrae, the technique is to push from top to bottom), rub the Fengchi point and temples, and push the three gates and six internal organs. Do it once a day, usually for two or three days, massaging each acupoint for three to five minutes. Because the child's skin is tender and easily injured, massage requires a certain medium. If the child has a fever, plain water, mint water or talcum powder can be used.

Parents should not rush to reduce the fever, as this will be detrimental to the treatment of the child's rash and disease. Because roseola infantum often causes sudden fever at night and the high fever does not subside, after taking antipyretics, if there is sweating, the body temperature will drop, but it will rise again afterwards, often reaching 39~40℃. When you have a fever, there is no rash on your body. The rash only appears after the fever subsides.

After a child has a persistent fever for 3 to 4 days, the temperature goes down or starts to subside, and some rashes will appear on the body. The rash is light red and the size of a needle tip. It is first seen on the trunk and then spreads to the whole body, most commonly on the trunk, and can also be seen on the face and neck. It is generally not itchy, and some children do have a slight itchy feeling, which will subside in 1 to 2 days without leaving any scars on the skin. Parents do not need to worry.

In addition, it is recommended that parents use a proven recipe, 10 grams of reed root, 3 grams of bamboo leaves, 6 grams of double flower, 6 grams of forsythia, and 3 grams of raw licorice. Decoction in water, 1 serving per day.

During home care, you should pay attention to giving your child plenty of water, such as hot water or hot rice soup, to make him sweat. Only by sweating can the body temperature go down. Keep the indoor air fresh and ventilated, and pay attention to keeping warm. Avoid wind and cold, and do not let the wind blow on children. Check body temperature frequently, observe more, and seek medical attention in time if there are changes in the condition.
