I believe that most people have experienced lumbar pain, but because the causes of lumbar pain are different for each person, the manifestations of lumbar pain in them are also different. Some people find that their lumbar pain is radiating pain. Radiating pain mainly refers to a kind of pain that spreads from the lumbar spine to the surrounding nerves. So what should we do about lumbar radiating pain? What is radiating pain? Radiating pain refers to the pain that occurs not only at the local site of stimulation, but also extends to the area innervated by the affected sensory nerve when the nerve trunk, nerve root or central nervous system is stimulated. This is called radiating pain. The pain is transmitted radially, and the conductive pain radiates from the proximal end of the limb (close to the heart) to the distal end, like a series inductor. In simple terms, it means that one pain point spreads to another point, and it is different from traction pain. Traction pain is often directly connected from one place to another, and it can be pulled to a distant part; while radiating pain spreads outward from one place, basically radiating to the adjacent tissues and no further. For example, sprained neck pain often radiates to the back. The pain can be divided into: Upper limb radiating pain, such as cervical spondylosis, often occurs in the nerve plexus of the neck or shoulder. Radiating pain in the lower limbs is mostly caused by compression of the thoracic, lumbar and sacral nerves. For example, lumbar disc herniation, hip arthritis, etc. cause the nerves to be compressed and damaged or invaded by inflammation, causing pain to the patient. How to treat radiating pain in the back? 1. Sleeping on a hard bed. Radiating pain in the lower back is mostly caused by excessive and uneven pressure on the lumbar intervertebral disc. Sleeping on a hard bed can reduce the pressure on the intervertebral disc. 2. Pay attention to keeping your waist warm and try not to catch cold. The waist is an important hub for blood circulation in the upper and lower limbs. The invasion of cold air causes congestion and blockage, which will also be harmful to the lumbar spine. Wear a waist belt (waist belt) around your waist during the day to strengthen the protection of your waist and back, which is also beneficial to the recovery of lumbar disease. 3. Do not bend over and exert force at ordinary times. Some labor work requires bending over and exerting force for a long time. The pressure on the lumbar intervertebral disc is more than 1 times the pressure when standing normally, so do not bend over to do things that you can squat down to do; try to rest in bed during the acute attack period, and pay attention to proper rest after the pain period is relieved. Do not overwork to avoid aggravating the pain. 4. Strengthen muscle training. Strong back muscles can prevent damage to the soft tissues of the waist and back. Training of the abdominal muscles and intercostal muscles can increase intra-abdominal and intra-pleural pressures, which helps to reduce the load on the lumbar spine. |
