Stinky grass is a species of Rutaecarpa of the Rutaceae family in the biological world, with a distinct odor. The whole plant is hairless and has glandular dots. The leaves are symbiotic, and the cymes are terminal or axillary; the flowers are orange-yellow; there are glandular dots at the bottom of the flower pot; the capsule splits when ripe. The seeds are kidney-shaped, gray-black, and bloom in spring. Harvest in June and July and dry. It is cold in nature, and tastes slightly bitter and spicy. The role and efficacy of stinkweed

It can dispel wind, reduce fever, facilitate urination, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, eliminate toxins and reduce swelling. It is used to treat colds and fever, rheumatic joint pain, infantile convulsions, urinary difficulty, diarrhea, hernia, liver depression and kidney deficiency in women, bruises, heat-toxic sores, and eczema.

1. "Essentials of Herbal Medicine" says: "It can eliminate all kinds of swelling caused by poison, relieve large sores, and heal snake bites."

2. "Nanning Pharmacopoeia": "It can reduce fever and dispel wind, facilitate urination and reduce swelling. It can treat fever, convulsions, rheumatic joint pain in children."

3. "Guangxi Chinese Medicine Annals": "It can treat malaria, heat poison, sores and all kinds of injuries. It can also be used externally for centipede bites."

4. "Chinese Medicinal Plants Illustrated Guide": "It treats liver depression, kidney deficiency, and hernia pain."

5. "Guangxi Plant List": "It can dispel wind and poison, disperse blood and blood stasis. It can treat colds and fever, irregular menstruation, epistaxis, toothache, carbuncle, and snake bites."

The efficacy and function of stinkweed

1. To treat infantile convulsions: 5 to 7 qian of fresh stinkweed. Stew it with appropriate amount of boiling water and take it twice a day. (Fujian Folk Herbs)

2. Treat diarrhea and urinary obstruction: smelly grass, either raw or cooked.

3. To treat abdominal parasites: fry smelly thatch in oil, mash it and apply on the navel.

4. To treat nosebleed: Crush the stinking grass and plug the nasal cavity. (The organizer listed the "Supplement to the Outline")

5. To treat small boils on children’s heads: mash the stinking grass to extract juice, and apply it with Indigo. (Records of Collecting Medicinal Herbs in Lingnan)

6. To treat hernia in newborn babies (caused by crying): 3 to 5 cents of fresh stinkweed. Add boiling water and stew. (Fujian Folk Herbs)

7. To treat intestinal discharge in children: boil smelly straw with good wine, mash it, and use a cloth to make a plaster and apply it on the affected area.

8. To treat fainting due to critical illness: cook smelly thatch with vinegar, rub it until cooked, and then plug the nose.

9. To treat poison from snakes, scorpions, centipedes, etc.: quickly get some stinking grass and eat it raw. (The waist prescription is listed in "Compendium of Materia Medica")
