Colon mucosal bulge

Colon mucosal bulge

Bulging of the colon mucosa is most likely a symptom caused by anorectal polyps. Although anorectal polyps are benign in most cases and will not deteriorate rapidly, if such a problem exists for a long time, it is also a major health hazard. Therefore, if you have anorectal polyps, you must treat and deal with them in time. Below, we will introduce the relevant knowledge about anorectal polyps in detail.

1. Main symptoms

(1) Blood in stool: Painless blood in stool is the main clinical manifestation of rectal polyps. Anorectal polyps cause less bleeding in stool. If the polyps fall off due to squeezing during defecation, and the polyps are large and located low,

, a large amount of blood in the stool may occur. The characteristic of bloody stool is that it contains blood but does not drip.

(2) Prolapse: When polyps are large or numerous, gravity pulls on the intestinal mucosa, causing it to gradually separate from the muscle layer and prolapse downward. The traction caused by the patient's defecation movement and the stimulation of intestinal peristalsis can relax the mucosal layer around the base of the rectum, which may lead to rectal prolapse.

(3) Intestinal irritation symptoms: When intestinal peristalsis pulls on polyps, intestinal irritation symptoms may occur, such as abdominal discomfort, lower abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloody stools, tenesmus, etc.

2. Five major causes of anorectal polyps

1. Dietary factors: Dietary factors have a certain relationship with the formation of colon polyps, especially the interaction between bacteria and bile acid, which may be the basis for the formation of adenomatous polyps.

2. Genetic factors: It is generally believed that the formation of colon polyps is closely related to gene mutation and genetic factors. Research shows that mutated genes can be inherited from parents to offspring, and men and women have equal inheritance opportunities without gender differences.

3. Inflammatory stimulation: Long-term inflammatory stimulation of the intestinal mucosa can cause the formation of intestinal mucosal polyps. This is due to the inflammation, congestion and edema of the intestinal mucosa. After the erosion and ulcer heal, the scars gradually shrink and form polyps. Chronic inflammatory stimulation causes gland obstruction and mucus retention, leading to the disease.

4. Irritation from feces, foreign bodies and mechanical damage: Long-term stimulation of the intestinal mucosal epithelium by fecal residue and foreign bodies, as well as other reasons that cause damage to the rectal mucosa, cause abnormal cell proliferation and the formation of polyps.

5. Bad living habits and irregular life can also lead to acidification of body fluids, causing intestinal cell mutation and hyperplasia, etc.

3. How to correctly view anorectal polyps

Self-care is particularly important for people with anorectal polyps. It not only improves the stimulation of the local adverse environment, but also provides a good foundation for treatment and rehabilitation. During the remission period, pay attention to the cleanliness of the anus. The anus should be washed frequently with warm salt water sitting bath, alum water can be used for external washing, or 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution can be used for local cleaning. To relieve the symptoms of anorectal polyps, clean it at least once a night, which can not only clean the local hygiene, but also improve local blood circulation and enhance resistance to disease.
