What tests should be done before ovulation induction?

For infertile female friends, the psychological burden is relatively heavy. At this time, you can check whether your body is ovulating normally, and you can eat some foods such as black beans to promote ovulation. If you want to induce ovulation, you can do endometrial examination and sex hormone examination. This is to check the development of follicles and whether the fertilized egg can successfully conceive, so it is recommended that female friends understand these examination methods.

examine

1. Endometrial examination: When the female endometrium is affected by ovarian estrogen and progesterone, obvious mid-term changes will occur in the middle of the menstrual period, while the secretion 5-7 days before the menstrual period is a late change. For example, if an endometrial examination is performed before or within 12 hours of menstruation, this is a proliferative phase change, that is, no ovulation.

2. Blood hormone test: The level of sex hormones in the blood is different during the mid-menstrual period. Whether the serum sex hormone level is normal depends on the specific time of blood drawing and observing whether ovulation occurs. Check whether LH peak and E2 peak appear during ovulation; observe the levels of progesterone and estrogen 7 days before menstruation, if P>5ng/ml, ovulation occurs; test on the 9th day of menstruation, if FSH, LH<15U/ml, E2<100pg/ml, it means follicular hypoplasia.

3. Ultrasonic follicle monitoring: Through ultrasound examination, 2-4mm follicles can be distinguished. Starting from the 9th day of the menstrual cycle, it is generally observed once every 1-3 days. Continuous observation can show that the follicles gradually grow and migrate to the ovaries. The dominant follicle is determined on the 9th to 12th day.

4. Basal body temperature: The basal body temperature without ovulation is monophasic, while the basal body temperature with ovulation is biphasic. Generally speaking, the basal body temperature usually rises 2-3 days after ovulation. In a few cases, the basal body temperature will rise on the ovulation day, with the increase being >0.3 degrees.

5. Vaginal exfoliated cells: One-third of the epithelial cells in the vagina are sensitive to sex hormones and will undergo periodic changes during the menstrual cycle. For example, vaginal exfoliated cells detected in the second half of menstruation are mainly estrogen keratinized cells with no cyclical changes, which means no ovulation.

6. B-ultrasound follicle monitoring: B-ultrasound follicle monitoring must be carried out during the non-menstrual period. The approximate ovulation period must be calculated based on the date calculation method before the examination.

7. Endocrine examination: After ovulation, it is normal to have a blood test for progesterone one week before menstruation. An elevated level indicates ovulation.
