Liver and gallbladder damp-heat is the name of a disease in traditional Chinese medicine. The main cause is frequent drinking or eating a lot of spicy food. The biggest characteristic of patients with damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder is that the color of their urine is yellower and darker than normal urine. In traditional Chinese medicine treatment, some Chinese medicines are often used to treat liver and gallbladder damp-heat. So the question is, what are the Chinese patent medicines for treating liver and gallbladder damp-heat? (I) Internal treatment 1. Damp-heat in the liver and gallbladder Symptoms: headache, red eyes, flank pain, bitter taste in the mouth, deafness, swollen ears; or downward movement of damp-heat, swelling and itching of the genitals, muscle atrophy, genital sweating, turbid urine, and downward movement of damp-heat in women. Treatment principle: Drain the excess fire in the liver and gallbladder, and clear the damp heat in the lower burner. Main prescription: Longdan Xiegan Decoction with modifications. Prescription: Gentiana, Gardenia, Scutellaria, Bupleurum, Akebia, Plantain, Alisma, Rehmannia, Angelica, and Licorice. Decoction in water, take 200-300 ml of juice, 1-2 doses daily, drink while warm. If vomiting and retching are present, add Rhizoma Anemarrhenae, Rhizoma Coptis, and Rhizoma Pinelliae; if vomiting and bleeding are present, add Cortex Moutan and Rubia cordifolia. If there is scrotal eczema, swollen and painful testicles, or yellow and smelly vaginal discharge, add Kochia scoparia and Phellodendron chinense; Smilax glabra and honeysuckle; if urination is frequent, painful and astringent, or even inability to urinate, add talc and agarwood. 2. Damp-heat jaundice Symptoms: Yang jaundice with fever, yellow face and body like orange, short and astringent yellow urine, difficult bowel movements (or constipation), slightly full abdomen, thirst, chest tightness, irritability, or sweating on the head but not elsewhere, yellow and greasy tongue coating, and slippery and rapid pulse. Treatment principle: relieve heat, promote dampness and reduce jaundice. Main formula: Yinchenhao decoction with added ingredients. Prescription: Artemisia capillaris, Gardenia jasminoides, Plantago seed, Poria cocos, Talcum, Forsythia suspensa, and Red Peony Root. Decoction in water, take 200-300 ml of juice, 1-2 doses daily, drink while warm. If jaundice worsens, drowsiness or coma occurs, it is advisable to take Zhibaodan, Angong Niuhuang Wan, Zixuedan orally or through nasogastric feeding. 3. Dampness and heat block the liver and gallbladder Symptoms: alternating chills and fever, fullness and pain in the chest and flanks, incessant vomiting, depression and slight restlessness, a hard and distended feeling under the heart, or fullness and pain under the heart, constipation or diarrhea with heat in the flanks, yellow tongue coating, and a stringy, rapid and strong pulse. Treatment principle: Reconcile Shaoyang and eliminate internal heat. Main prescription: Da Chaihu Decoction with modifications. Prescription: decocted bupleurum, immature bitter orange, magnolia bark, scutellaria, pinellia, rhubarb, and ginger in water, extract 200-300 ml of juice, 1-2 doses daily, taken warm. If the abdominal pain is severe and the patient vomits ascarids, it is advisable to take Wumei Pills first to calm the worms and then use this prescription; if the damp heat is boiled into sand and gravel, blocking the bile duct, add Centella asiatica, Sea Sand, and Curcuma; if the stomach and intestines are dry and hot, the bowel movement is blocked, and the abdomen is full of pus, add Glauber's salt (taken with water). (II) External treatment 1. Topical medication (1) Use any one of the following: buttercup, garlic, white mustard, or rhubarb, and apply to the Hegu and Lieque points. After foaming, puncture the points to let yellow water flow out (but avoid infection during the operation, and it is best to use this method under the supervision of a medical worker). This method is used for damp-heat jaundice. (2) Decoction of Kochia scoparia and Smilax glabra into water for fumigation and washing of the vulva. This is used to treat itchy vulva and yellow and smelly vaginal discharge. 2. Enema therapy (1) Boil raw rhubarb, purslane and phellodendron in water to obtain 150 ml of juice, retain it for enema for 20 to 30 minutes, 1 to 2 times a day. (2) Boil raw rhubarb and Patrinia salsa in water, take 150 ml of juice, and use it for high enema. Keep it for 20 to 30 minutes, once a day. One course of treatment is 5 to 7 days. |
