Neck discomfort and stiffness

It is very troublesome to treat cervical spondylosis, and most patients with cervical spondylosis may cause periarthritis of the shoulder and sciatica. 2/4 of patients with stiff and painful neck can also undergo appropriate massage treatments. Press and rub Fengchi: Use the thumbs of both hands to press on the Fengchi points on the same side (the depressions on both sides of the back of the neck), and place the other fingers on both sides of the head, press and rub from light to heavy for 20 to 30 times. Efficacy: Dispel wind and cold, open the orifices and relieve pain. Pinch the neck muscles: raise the left (right) hand and place it behind the neck, place the thumb on the outside of the neck on the same side, and the other four fingers on the opposite side of the neck muscles. Put both hands together, lift the neck muscles upward and then relax, and pinch along the Fengchi point downward to the Dazhui point 20 to 30 times. Efficacy: Antispasmodic and analgesic, harmonizing qi and blood. Press Jianjing point: Press the Jianjing point on the opposite side with the middle finger of the left (right) hand (at the midpoint of the line connecting the Dazhui and the acromion, on the shoulder muscle), then press from light to heavy for 10 to 20 times, alternating between the two sides. Efficacy: Promotes blood circulation, dispels cold and relieves pain.

3/4 For patients with stiff and sore neck caused by rheumatism and cold, they should first try to avoid using air conditioning, pay attention to keeping the cervical spine warm, and at the same time use some drugs that relax muscles and tendons, promote ventilation and promote blood circulation as auxiliary treatment.

4/4 For some patients who have long-term neck stiffness and pain that is difficult to eliminate, cervical spondylosis is considered to be the cause. The stiffness and pain induced by this condition requires targeted treatment. The neck patch is one of the examples. It is safer and more effective than traditional traction, acupuncture and surgical treatments.

Precautions

Nowadays, there are an endless stream of cervical health products such as titanium collars, "universal pillows", and therapeutic devices in society. In fact, the mechanisms of these products have basically no scientific basis, and most of the ingredients are taken for granted. There is no need to spend money on this. Pay attention to daily cervical spine exercises and do more exercises, such as swimming, playing badminton, flying kites, etc., which are very beneficial for the maintenance of the cervical spine.

To keep the cervical spine warm, it is recommended that women who like to wear low-necked and backless clothes always carry a scarf to keep their necks warm.

The pillow should fit the physiological curve of the neck. Generally, the height required by an adult is about 10 to 15 cm. If it is too high, it will easily change the physiological curvature of the cervical spine in the opposite direction. Long-term use may cause neck strain. In addition, there are also some requirements for using a pillow. The correct way is to use it on the neck rather than the head, so as to avoid keeping the back neck muscles in a state of tension for a long time, causing chronic strain on the neck and shoulders. No matter which pillow you use, the ideal state is that the muscles behind your neck can be relaxed when you use the pillow.
