This condition may also be caused by bacterial gastroenteritis, which is mostly caused by eating spoiled food. Bacterial gastroenteritis is often manifested by abdominal pain and bloating, nausea and vomiting, increased intestinal motility, tenesmus, diarrhea, loose stools, blood in the stool, etc. It is recommended to go to the gastroenterology department for examination in time. You can do a routine stool test to see if there is bacterial or viral infection. If bacterial enteritis is indeed present, timely bactericidal and anti-inflammatory treatment is required.

What to do if your stomach growls

The rumbling stomach should be the sound of bowel sounds. Normal bowel sounds are generally three to five times per minute, and the sound is not too loud and requires a stethoscope to be heard. If you can hear bowel sounds directly, it indicates hyperactive bowel sounds. This condition occurs when the bowel movements are too rapid after taking irritating foods or taking oral laxatives. Patients with hyperthyroidism have rapid intestinal motility and loud bowel sounds. If you have rumbling stomach sounds but no abdominal pain or diarrhea, you can simply adjust your diet and avoid eating raw or cold foods. No special treatment is needed.
