Symptoms of cerebral arteriosclerosis

Cerebral vascular sclerosis is actually a common disease among modern people. It is a type of arteriosclerosis. If not treated in time, it is likely to cause a stroke and even threaten life and health. At the same time, we also know that this type of cerebral vascular sclerosis disease mainly causes dizziness, ice pain, nausea and other problems in the early stage of the disease, and some different problems will arise in the middle stage.

There will be different symptoms in the early, middle and late stages of cerebral arteriosclerosis. For people with cerebral arteriosclerosis, only scientific treatment can minimize the harm of cerebral arteriosclerosis to the body. Therefore, we must learn to thoroughly treat cerebral vascular sclerosis at different stages.

Symptoms and signs

Cerebral vascular sclerosis is a type of arteriosclerosis. It is very dangerous because it can easily cause stroke. The symptoms of cerebral vascular sclerosis are different in the early and late stages of the disease.

Initial symptoms

The main symptoms of cerebral arteriosclerosis are: dizziness and headache. Dizziness and headache mostly occur in the forehead and occipital area (i.e. the back of the head). They are mostly dull pains. They are most likely to occur when the body position changes or the original symptoms become worse. Some patients feel that their walking is asymmetrical. For example, when the arteries at the base of the body are sclerotic, there may be dizziness, nystagmus, nausea, and facial muscle paralysis, and some may also be accompanied by difficulty swallowing. Memory loss, lack of concentration, reduced mental work ability, and difficulty in work and study. Memory loss is also manifested by forgetting recent events quickly and remembering past events clearly, but the memory loss is not obvious. This is often the earliest sign of intracranial arteriosclerosis, indicating insufficient blood supply to the brain, affecting normal mental work.

The symptoms of cerebral arteriosclerosis mainly include brain parenchymal mental symptoms and dementia syndrome, that is, cerebral arteriosclerotic psychosis. The most prominent manifestation is memory loss. In addition to the significant impairment of recent memory, remote memory is also affected. The patient is unable to recount his or her own experiences and does not even recognize his or her own family members. There is a progressive decline in the ability to calculate, judge and understand, and consciousness is impaired, making it impossible to complete daily tasks. Thinking activities are slow, association is difficult, and even thinking is incoherent. Speech is repetitive or verbose. Sometimes delusions occur, with persecution delusions, relationship delusions and guilt delusions being the most common. Sometimes auditory or olfactory hallucinations occur, and the content is often related to fantasy. Personality and emotions change, and people often become indifferent, withdrawn, lazy, stingy, childish, untidy, and even urinate and defecate anywhere. Disordered behavior, idleness, sometimes impulsive and aggressive behavior, and self-control disorders. The condition becomes increasingly serious, with occasional fluctuations, with symptoms alternating between relief and aggravation. In severe cases, the patient may experience confusion or delirium, but will suddenly wake up soon after. It is often misdiagnosed as "neurasthenia", "neurosis" and "menopausal syndrome".

Cerebral arteriosclerosis is very harmful to people, and many times this disease cannot be discovered in time. Many times it will cause slow thinking activities, personality changes and other problems. Therefore, if you find that your family members have the above symptoms, you must take them to see a doctor in time to reduce the harm of the disease to the body.
