How are Chinese medicine granules made?

Nowadays, people often find that Chinese medicine is not as unpalatable as before, because it has begun to be made into capsules. Or in granular form, when the living standard is not high, we find that Chinese medicine is some relatively direct medicinal materials, and we need to boil it ourselves. But now it is different, because we find that the state of traditional Chinese medicine has changed, so how are traditional Chinese medicine granules made?

Decoction method: Decoction method is to put water into the traditional Chinese medicine and heat it to boil. The general operation method of decoction method is to first cut the traditional Chinese medicine into pieces or powder, and then put it in a suitable container, and then add water. The water should cover the medicinal materials, and then soak them for a period of time and then heat them with fire to separate them. Boil the residue two or three times, collect the separated medicinal liquid, centrifuge or filter, and finally obtain the remaining ointment. This method is more suitable when the active ingredients can be dissolved in water. This method is currently the most commonly used method for preparing granules.

Immersion method: The immersion method is to soak the Chinese medicinal materials at a certain temperature, so that the medicinal effects of the medicinal materials can be effectively separated. The operating procedures of this immersion method are: first crush the medicinal materials, cut them into slices, and then put them in a bottle with a lid, and then add a certain solvent to seal it. After three to five days, the medicinal effects will generally be fully leached out and then filtered and precipitated. This method is mainly suitable for medicinal materials that are somewhat sticky and have no organizational structure, but the whole process takes too long and the efficiency is relatively low.

It is best to obtain the ingredients extracted from traditional Chinese medicine in powder form before making them into granules, so the extracted ingredients must be compressed and dried to remove moisture. There are many drying technologies, the more common ones are membrane concentration technology, reverse osmosis technology and spray drying, etc. Each of these technologies has its own characteristics and advantages, and you can choose to prepare it by your own method.

The preparation methods of Chinese herbal granules are those mentioned above, which are also some of the more common preparation methods. There are many factors that affect the quality of Chinese herbal granules, such as the intermediate process, environment, and production proficiency. Today’s sharing ends. I hope that the preparation methods of Chinese herbal granules will be helpful to you.
