Effects of nitroglycerin

Effects of nitroglycerin

When angina pectoris occurs acutely, nitroglycerin will play a very good role. It is also a very good and commonly used medicine for preventing and treating coronary heart disease. This is also the common effect of nitroglycerin. Although nitroglycerin has a good effect on the treatment of coronary heart disease, it is not suitable for all patients with coronary heart disease. It must be used scientifically and some precautions should be taken when using it.

Understand the role of nitroglycerin and know how to use this medicine reasonably to effectively control coronary heart disease. There are also some things to pay attention to when using nitroglycerin. You must know the route of administration of nitroglycerin, the dosage of the medicine, and pay attention to the efficacy.

1. Know the route of medication. In the event of an acute attack of angina pectoris, nitroglycerin tablets should be immediately placed under the tongue.

2. Know the posture for taking medicine. You should sit down, preferably leaning on a sofa, rattan chair or other wide chair with an armrest.

3. Know the dosage of the medicine. When angina pectoris attacks acutely, you can immediately dissolve a tablet of nitroglycerin sublingually. If it doesn't work, dissolve another tablet after 5 minutes. This can be done three times in a row, but generally not more than three times.

4. Pay attention to the therapeutic effect. If the treatment effect is not good, consider the possibility of other diseases. If the angina pectoris is not relieved after dissolving three tablets of nitroglycerin continuously and is accompanied by symptoms such as sweating, pale face, fear and anxiety, and cold limbs, it is necessary to consider that a myocardial infarction has occurred and dial 120 emergency number immediately while trying to rescue the patient.

5. Please carry it with you. Patients with a history of coronary heart disease or angina pectoris must carry nitroglycerin with them when going out to prevent accidents. This is very important.

6. Keep away from light. When carrying nitroglycerin with you, it is easily affected by body temperature and is not well sealed, so it can easily decompose and become ineffective, so it is best to replace it once a month.

7. Notes may be supplemented at any time. Check the medicine box more often. If the remaining amount is insufficient, refill it in time.

Adverse reactions to nitroglycerin

Excessive use of nitroglycerin can cause side effects such as facial flushing, throbbing heart pain, palpitations, and low blood pressure. The dosage should be reduced at this time. Some patients are more sensitive to nitroglycerin and will experience the above symptoms even with small doses. What's worse, some people are extremely sensitive to it, and will experience symptoms of collapse such as cold sweats all over the body and undetectable blood pressure once they use it. This should be noted and differentiated from acute myocardial infarction.

You should have some understanding of the effects of nitroglycerin after the above introduction. This drug is very good for the prevention and treatment of angina pectoris. At the same time, you should avoid some misunderstandings when using it. Only by knowing how to use nitroglycerin reasonably can you maximize the effect of this drug. It is also a very good blood pressure lowering drug.
