The dangers of hemorrhoids

The dangers of hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are a relatively common disease in the anal area. Many people are "affected" by it. This disease is very difficult to talk about, and many people do not take measures to improve it. Over time, this poses a huge threat to people's health. We need to learn more about this aspect in order to avoid these injuries.

Most hemorrhoids are caused by constipation. Modern people have frequent nightlife, and many people do not pay attention to their bodies. Coupled with bad eating habits, it is very common to suffer from hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are very harmful, but many people feel ashamed and do not receive timely treatment, which is very dangerous.

There are many dangers of hemorrhoids. Let us introduce them to you in detail:

1. Severe hemorrhoids can cause or induce cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, especially in elderly patients. If hemorrhoids cause psychological pressure and they dare not go to the toilet, constipation will be aggravated in the long run. When defecation becomes difficult, the patient holds his breath, which can accelerate the heartbeat and cause rupture of cerebral blood vessels, leading to cerebral hemorrhage or cerebral embolism. If internal hemorrhoids are incarcerated, the pain can also induce angina attacks. If thrombosis occurs, pulmonary embolism can be caused.

2. The main symptoms of hemorrhoids are bloody stools and prolapse. Repeated bleeding during bowel movements will cause a large amount of iron loss in the body, causing iron deficiency anemia. This is because under normal circumstances, the absorption and excretion of iron remain in a balanced state, and the amount of iron loss is very small. The normal adult male loses no more than 2 mg of iron per day, while patients with bloody stools lose more than 3 to 4 mg of iron if the daily blood loss exceeds 6 to 8 ml. The normal total iron content in a male is 50 mg/kg body weight, and in a female it is about 35 mg/kg body weight. If there is blood in the stool for a long time, a large amount of iron will be lost, causing the total iron content in the body to be lower than normal, which can cause iron deficiency anemia.

The harm of hemorrhoids is self-evident, and everyone should have heard of it. In addition to active treatment, we must also do a good job of prevention in daily life. Everyone should drink plenty of water, because drinking water can soften the stool in the intestines and promote intestinal peristalsis, which is very helpful in preventing hemorrhoids.
