What to do if your skin hurts when exposed to the sun

The summer is hot and the strong sunlight will not only tan people, but also may sunburn people's skin. Some people have found symptoms of redness, burning, and even pain on their skin due to inadequate sun protection measures. If this happens, it is recommended that you deal with it in a timely manner. You can try simple treatments such as cold compresses and disinfection. If the injury is serious, you need to see a professional doctor for treatment.

What to do if your skin hurts when exposed to the sun

1. When the skin appears red but there is no other abnormality, it is a mild sunburn. You can use light salt water for cold compress and it can usually recover.

2. When the skin is red and accompanied by a burning sensation, disinfect it with light salt water. At the same time, eat more fresh vegetables and fruits. You can apply fresh cucumber slices to the affected area to increase the skin's moisture, elasticity and recovery ability.

3. When the skin is red and painful, use sulfur soap to take a bath to relieve itching and kill bacteria. You can apply fresh aloe vera, or you can apply some silicone cream or cod liver oil ointment to lubricate and protect the newly grown epidermis. Pay attention to rest, drink plenty of boiled water, and eat more fruits and vegetables to supplement vitamins.

4. If the skin is red and swollen, accompanied by burning and pain, apply burn ointment to the affected area and avoid sun exposure. In this case, you must use some after-sun repair products, otherwise the pigmentation will be a bit serious.

5. If red spots, blisters, etc. appear on the skin and it itches and hurts like a burning fire, it is a severe sunburn and requires application of moist burn ointment and oral desensitization drugs. The blisters can be punctured, but the epidermis should not be peeled off. If the condition worsens, seek medical attention immediately.

After sunburn, pay attention to:

1. Do not go out in the sun again after being sunburned, as the sunburn will be doubled.

2. After sunburn, scaling and peeling will occur within a few days after treatment, and temporary pigmentation will be left. This is normal. Do not pull off the dandruff with your hands.

3. When the skin shows early symptoms of sunburn such as redness, dryness and slight peeling, it is not suitable to use general cleaning products. When cleaning the skin, it is best to use weakly acidic cleansers that match the skin's pH value.

4. After sunburn, you can only apply cold compresses and wash your face with cold boiled water. Do not use hot water, which will aggravate the pain.

5. If your back is sunburned, sprinkle talcum powder on the bed before going to bed to reduce friction between the bed and your skin.

Summer sun protection tips

1. When you go out in the summer, if the sun is very strong, you must not wear short sleeves. When the sun is at its strongest, you should choose long sleeves to go out. This can avoid burns on your skin and protect your skin from getting tanned.

2. In summer, don't go out after noon. It's best to stay indoors before 4 p.m., because the ultraviolet rays are strongest from 12 to 4 p.m. in summer. If you go out, your body will be burned by ultraviolet rays.

3. We are not necessarily safe at home in summer, because if you get close to the window, you will still be exposed to the sun. Therefore, when you get close to the window in summer, you should pull down the curtains, which can protect your health well.

4. Everyone remember to put on some sunscreen when we go out. Sun protection clothing is not effective as soon as it is applied. The correct way is to apply some sunscreen half an hour before going out. You need to apply the sunscreen evenly on all parts of the skin, and remember to apply a larger amount.

5. When we go out in the summer, we should apply some sunscreen to our entire body, especially our lips, eyes and nose. In addition, we should also apply some sunscreen to our ears, so that we can have more comprehensive sun protection.

6. When you go out, you may get burned when the summer sun shines on a certain part of your body. Don't worry at this time. You can use toothpaste to treat it after returning home. You can just apply toothpaste on the part that is burned by the sun.

7. What many people don’t know is that sunscreen should not be used indiscriminately. For example, general sunscreen products for children should not be used indiscriminately with our adult sunscreen products. This is because children’s skin is different from adults’ skin, so if used indiscriminately, the effect will disappear.
